Good Lord, I'm about to go nuts. This is a distinctly unsatisfying experience (mind you, I'm only on day one, and I'm also incredibly crabby lol). Some hits get great vapor, other hits, nearly nothing. Flavors all taste the same (crap). Throat hit...meh. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's nonexistent. And what's REALLY ticking me off is that I have yet to experience an easy draw. No, it feels rather like sucking a thick shake through a straw. This is not my idea of an enjoyable experience lol. What's worse is that I can't even comfortably fill in the gaps with an analog --they've been making my lungs feel like caving in ever since I started vaping today (Joye 510). Sorry for venting, but I'm rather upset at the moment....
Take a break, slow yourself down, put your feet up, and relax a bit. This is not something you can just light up. Your batteries all charged up, a new cart, everything snugly put together. Don't be surprised if at first the vapors tastes awful, there is a primer coating in the vaporizer from the factory-testing, but in about 10 puffs that taste will be gone. Then your flavor from the cartridge will take over, and it will be much more pleasant. This happens whenever you change atomizers. I hope you have a couple extras, atomizers and batteries, they do burn out eventually.
Take a nice, long, GENTLE puff. If you're sucking a thick shake, you are puffing WAY too hard. If your battery is an automatic, i.e., it lights up when you puff on it, then you need to puff only hard enough to get the light on. For as loooooooonnnggg as you can sustain the puff. See, the longer your puff, the hotter the atomizer, and the better the vapor. You may want to take a shorter, two second puff first, then another puff right away for as long as your cut-off time allows. Most batteries are programed for a 5-second cut off time, this is to prevent overheating. Try to puff gently for one-one thousand, two-one thousand, etc....it's a very long time!!
You will have good vapor, you will be very happy, even if the juice tastes awful: but see, you're not supposed to be getting juice into your mouth, that's from puffing too hard!!! LONG GENTLE Puffs.
If you have Manual batteries, i.e. with a switch on them, same thing. Push down the switch for 1-2 seconds, then start your looooong gentle puff. Release the switch.
Keep your atomizer from overheating by waiting a little while between puffs, don't overdo it. Let the juice in the cartridge kind of have a chance to re-wet the tip that touches the atomizer. If everything is making proper contact, the moist filler to the atomizer, and the atomizer firmly attached to the battery, you should be having no trouble at all.
If you're using pre-filled carts, you'll notice when they start to dry out, the vapor goes down, and you'll get kind of a scorched, plastic taste. Time for a new cartridge. Or re-fill it from your bottled juice, if that's what you're doing. You don't want it running out-wet, just till it looks moist.
DO read the manual that came with your cigarette, they explain how everything works, it will make it a lot easier to transition from tobacco to e-cig. It took me about 3 hours of frustration, terrible tasting juice in my mouth, and finally having to charge the battery to go and light up my very last cigarette, over six months ago.
Don't fight with it, if you hear 'gurgling' noises when you puff, your atomizer is flooded, either from puffing too hard, or battery is running down. Take everything apart, blow into the threaded-end of the atomizer to clear out the excess liquid, and then a new battery, long gentle pulls and lots of vapor! Relax with your new life!!
Good luck, and Welcome to the Forum!
