I have always used aw imr batts in my preciousi ( yes I made that word up plural for precious ). Tonight I tossed in an efest 18650. Should I be punished?
is this bad?

Why would you even keep Efests when you have AW's?

If choosing between AW and Efest. YES.there's still people who believe that "AW are the best batteries" drivel?
You should get IMR button top batteries. If you get flat tops, they will not work in the ProVari. I would check to see if those sony's are button tops or flat tops.
What's IMR? Well this thread should make your head spin, but it is a type of LiIon chemistry which relates to the chemical makeup of the batery.

So according to the link posted by batitude. Sorry for the ignorance the 18650 efest meets all the standards. The amp limit is high enough etc. I'm not arguing at all, just well, even provape used to sell efest batteries correct? I have plenty of aw 490s and 350s but only 1 650 aw as of now. I'll be investing in a couple more when I order my bronze at some point soon (1 year vapeversarry). But for now it seems at least with my level of reading comprehension that efest should do fine. Now please no flames. If I can safely build a .5 ohm in my nemmy for this particular battery why is it not safe for the precious. I should state I've been known not to read too good.![]()
If choosing between AW and Efest. YES.
BTW, there's a reason that Provape states at least four times on the Provari product page that they recommend using only AW high drain batteries in the Provari. The Provari was actually designed around the AW IMR batteries, right down to being a button-top.
Question for the tech engineers at Provape

After all these batteries are all coming from china anyway aren't they? who is to say that aw,efest, sony,lg etc. aren't all getting them from the same place.
yeah, but the Panasonic ncr18650pf is a much better battery and so is the sony vct family. both can be had button top
edit: efest are useless, wont find them in my mods
When I posted this it was half tongue in cheek. Efest IMR's are okay to use in ProVari's, but they overstate their mAh and won't last as long as the equivalent AW battery. If you must substitute another battery for AW's, Panasonic or Orbtronic IMR batteries are a better choice...though they are often counterfeited too.Why would you even keep Efests when you have AW's?
