I had no thought and no intentions of quitting. when I read about the PV's though, I thought that if I did not at least try something that was apparently cleaner and safer and that addressed the somewhat hysterical "second hand smoke" outcries, then I would be as close minded as the anti-smoking lot!

To my great surprise I went form 40 to 3, 2, 1 zero per day in 3 days! That was back in March and I have not gone back.

I bought mine out of curiosity after a friend sent me a link asking if I had heard of them before. So my curiosity got to me and I purchased a Smoking Everywhere cig from Amazon ($80 and learnt my lesson as they are cheaper elsewhere).
I have tried everything in the past to stop smoking and was on Chantix for about a year, but that stuff really does mess around with you head.
So when the experiment arrived and I tried it, I have not looked back. I have only been vaping for a week and a half and have not touched a 'real cig' since. I have however gotten so into it that I am waiting for my 4x501's to arrive and a bunch on atomizers and batteries for my recent 901, plus an ocean of juices from all over the place to stock up 'just in case'.
I never want to go back to smoking analogues!
The question is, will I stop??? Maybe one day, but I am not in a hurry now I have found a safer way to enjoy a clean nicotene buzz.
Lots of my friends and colleagues are following suit.
HOW DARE THEY TRY AND BAN THEM!!

PS. How do I get a sig banner that counts my smoke free days like a lot on this board?

well, i'm not vaping yet (as my order is currently in the mail), but my boyfriend and i have every intention to quit. he is also a pipe smoker and would like to keep doing that on occasion, but neither of us have any interest in analog smoking. i'm a slave to the ritual and nicotine- have tried cold turkey, zyban (twice) and chantix. i made sure to order a crapload of ecig stuff (multiple 501s, replacement atomizers, an 801 w/ replacement atomizers and two PCCs) so technically, we'll be too broke to smoke many analogs. :) short answer: absolutely. i'm sick of smoking!

Everyone (My Mom, my In-laws, my friends) were all over me to quit. I wasn't about to "want a cigarette every day for the rest of my life" It wasn't worth it to me. I've been smoking almost 40 years. I'm in good health, I LIKE smoking!

I was very angry at the new tax, I smoked 3 packs a day; and I thought with this, if I could just cut that in half, I'd not be paying any more than I did at the time for my analogs.

The first day with my e-cig I smoked 13 cigarettes. (Mostly before the mail came and waiting for it to charge)

The next day, 7...then 3 the next day; then one day I realized I hadn't had an analog in 2 days.

I really enjoy my e-cig and "Accidentally" quit analoges, I can smell and taste now and my smoking friends stink.

I have no plans to cut my nicotine, I like it. There's no reason why I should. But I'll never go back to analoges.

I decided to try vaping as a way to quit smoking cigarettes. Like a lot of you, I was getting a lot of grief from the girlfriend and family about smoking. Even though I didn't smoke that much (half pack a day) it was still enough. I got my 510 about a week ago and was loving it but the prefilled carts sucked.

I recently got my first juice two days ago. Yesterday morning I smoked the last analog I had in my pack and didn't buy another one (which as most of you know is a pretty big deal). So far I'm going on over 24 hours without an analog and I really have no desire for one. If this keeps up the 510 purchase will be one of the best choices I made.

I didn't get into ecigs to quit smoking. I got into ecigs to stop smoking bad cigars. I was smoking 1-2 cheap cigars a day. When I was meeting up with a friend one day we traded good cigars and he commented on the flavors he was getting from the cigar I had given him which I hadn't noticed and had just smoked one the night before! Then I realized how messed up my taste buds have become. After about a month of smoking maybe one cigar a week I'm finding so many tastes and smells that I didn't even know were there. I still time to time get a feeling like a "need" to have a cigar but I think it is more a sense of loss of the daily ritual of coming home jumping on the computer and lighting a cigar like I have for years now.

I am sorry, but I do not believe for a cold-hearted second that none of you guys picked up this electronic device not to quit. This was the whole gimmick. This was the enticement. This is what all around us propose and advertise.

And guess what!? It f***ing worked! Let's stop being all politically correct because we fear the FDA may be reading this. F*** it. I am eternally grateful and owe my longevity to those that advocate and continue to express the right to vaporize nicotine respectfully in our home without harming others.

God bless!

My kids are thrilled I quit. My oldest reminds me all the time about what is happening with my lungs and health at certain intervals (like the, "after day 2 your blood pressure is lowered", after 1 week....")
And let me just say, for the record, my kids are 18 and 19. Their friends range in age 16 to 19, and mine is the house that all the kids congregate. Right now there are 6 teenagers here...they come in and see me with my passthrough (my umbilical cord, I call it!) and wonder what the heck is going on. I explain it to them and they all think its great that i quit analogs, but think that ecigs look 'stupid', 'queer', or 'ridiculous' and wouldn't be caught dead with them, or even hanging out with anyone that vapes.

Really, I would admit it! But I liked smoking! The only times I tried to quit was when I was pregnant. I got ecigs because I wanted to smoke more! I wanted to smoke in Walmart, at the movies, at restaurants! It really did just turn out that I liked ecigs better than my Misty Menthol Lights 120's and saw no reason to go back.

Well my fiance stopped smoking on June 5th of this year, and she felt it hard not ask to hit my Cig when I smoked around her. I have been wanting an e-cig since Dec of last year, so figured this would be the perfect time to get one.

So yes, for my own health, and out of respect for my fiance, I bought with the intention to quit. AND I DID!!! :D

YES.

The most stupid thing I have ever done was to 'try' a cigarette after recovering from MAJOR heart surgery!

I had smoked for around 30 years then came close to death from a failing aortic valve. The valve and most of my aorta was replaced and definitely saved my life.

I switched to vaping as an alternative to smoking. I did it because I have tried and failed to quit smoking numerous times. I did it to be rid of the SMELL, the expense, and for my grandchildren. I love them so much and want to live to see them grow up.

I saw my cardiologist a few weeks ago and the first thing she said (with a big grin) was "I am so happy not to smell tobacco on you!". I told her about vaping and gave her information for her father who breaks her heart by continuing to smoke.
