Did you quit smoking right away?

Hi,
I've been vaping for 5 days and although I wanted to quit smoking immediately, I still smoke about 1 -2 analogs a day. I really want to quit completely and I'm hoping when the last pack I bought (Thursday) runs out I'll be able to quit for good... right now the temptation is still too strong knowing they're there. I only have 2 left, so I'm starting to get a bit nervous.

What was your experience like - did you quit completely, or did it take a little time to finally ditch those nasty smokes?

On the plus side, I created one of those vaping banners (that I can't attach yet since I don't have enough posts) and I HAVE passed up 85 analogs, so that's what I'm trying to focus on right now.

Good for you on skipping 85 analogs!!

I smoked 1 or 2 a day for the first week, then found upping my nic helped stop even that. 24mg was what I needed as a 2+ PAD / 33 yr smoker. I still gave into temptation when it hit once or twice after that, but found after a puff that it really wasn't what I wanted. It's been 5 mths now and I don't miss then a bit!

Give yourself some slack and just enjoy the new hobby!

It took me 8 days before I didn't feel the need to grab an analog. I smoked 1/2 to 1 PAD for 26 yrs, and after switching to e-cigs I still smoked one analog every evening for the first 8 days.

Also switching up to 24mg juice really helped me out.

If you still feel the need to smoke analogs for awhile don't sweat it. Just let the transition happen naturally.

45 years at 2.5 packs a day seemed impossible, especially since I put myself through college working in the cigarette factories in winston-salem, nc.

Yes you can do it as I have. The feeling, warmth, and habitual habit of having something in your hand can be licked with an e-cig. Just find the one that is right for you and you are on your way.

Every pull on my e-cig reminds me of the awful taste of analogs.

Good luck and stick with it, you will profit from your endeavor.

i'm still smoking analogs. my roommate and i (maybe his g/f as well) are quitting analogs totally on his b-day which is 8-18. i think the two of us will get by fine with just vaping but i'm not sure about her.

the problem now is that we still go have smoke breaks with each other. if none of us are doing it i don't think it will be much of an issue.

I got my 510 kit on Friday morning and had bought 3 packs of Pall Mall the night before. Before I got the package I had 7 left one pack I opened. Still in my top dresser drawer and haven't smoke one since my e cig. Good thing I bought a usb passthrough so I don't have to worry about running out of batteries. The passthrough seems to hit better than the stock 510 batteries. I got a 30ml bottle of 30mg strength Marlboro flavor. I had some strong habitual urges to pick up an analog on the 1st and second day but now I don't even think about them even if I see them every time I open that drawer. It doesn't faze me, I just vape on my pass through or now the Riva Ego. I just got the Riva Evo which the battery last longer and has a better it since the voltage is at 3.7. Now I'm looking into a mod like the Buzz to buy. If your a heavier smoker I recommend to just start with the Riva Ego then buy a Buzz, but don't to get at least a 1 30 ml bottle of e juice and the pass through was a must have. I plug the pass through on my computer, my iphone usb ac charger, or my usb cig adapter I have in the car ( I have the dual port one to plug in my iphone and my e cig).

I want to step up to at least 5v but the variable voltage mods are intriguing. I also want to buy or make a 5v pass through. As far as the variable voltage mods I'm looking at the Buzz, the Fistpack v3, and the Precious. I like the Fistpack because it has a mini usb port to use as a passthrough and the battery indicator leds. It has 4 switchable voltage selections but prefer the fine tuning of a potentiometer. I also like the Precious because it uses a touch sensor switch to activate. It also uses the touch switch to variably adjust the voltage, but it doesn't have a mini usb port to make it a pass through.

I found a company out of Utah that makes a touch sensor potentiometer which has no mechanical parts. Here's a link on how it works and contact info:

Since I can't post a link it's at spectrasymbol dot com and it's called the soft pot.

I did quite smoking right away and was 100% analog free for at least 2 months. Since then I've probably had 10 analogs and I don't consider this as "falling off the wagon". In fact I have a pack of cigs not 3 feet from my desk and I haven't had one in several weeks. The truth is that, over time, I've come to enjoy vaping FAR more that analogs. I still occasionally do like an analog once in a while though...
