I quit smoking immediately and gave almost a full carton of cigs to a nice homeless fellow at the bus stop.

But I've had LOUSY luck passing on my good fortune to others. I've given away 5 starter kits and only one of them stuck. She's 16 days without a cig now and joined this forum. But 4 of them just weren't ready and found all kinds of reasons to dislike the ecig. And I don't understand how it made such an immediate impact on me and the others didn't like it.... what gives with that?
I AGREE!!! "it hurts my lips" or "I can't inhale it" or "it's not accessible enough for me" are a few EXCUSES I've heard. I wonder what excuses they'll use when they're using Oxygen out of a hole in their trachea in a few years?
I'd go snag those kits up from them and hook up ppl that are actually WANTING TO QUIT.
Such STUPID excuses man... i even offered a way to keep the liquid from getting on my gf's mom's lips (the one who claimed their lips hurt bc of the liquid) but she STILL didn't use it. She was just full of Sh.....

I got my kit, charged the battery and haven't had a real cigarette in almost 5 weeks. I had good motivation though....I couldn't breathe, woke up each morning coughing my head off and couldn't seem to have any energy. I am breathing better, don't cough at all in the morning now and even though I am still a lazy Grandma :D I do have more energy now.

They don't want to quit smoking analog cigs. If they were really interested in an alternative, they'd have researched it themselves.

I have several disposables I keep around for anyone who expresses serious interest in trying an ecig. A couple have made the switch or use them casually. It's really up to them to decide to ditch the smokes.

I too gave away my cigarettes when I started vaping. All except one pack which I keep on my desk as a reminder. I dust it weekly but otherwise, don't really notice it. At the one year mark, I'll throw it away.

Oddly enough, I didn't even get into e-cigs for the purpose of quitting. I think when we have one of those big, monumental, "OK, I'm quitting as of xx-xx-xxxx date" moments, it just puts too much pressure...for me at least.

In my case it just turned out that a good buddy of mine brought over his smoking-anywhere/everywhere (whatever the eff it's called) ecig and let me take a few puffs on it. It wasn't "exactly" like smoking an analog, but I couldn't believe how close it came to the "real" thing.

I think the biggest thing is, you have to try to remember back to when you first started smoking....you soon developed a craving for the nicotine, but honestly, did the smoke and tar ever really taste good? (and) Here you have a much, much cleaner alternative, along with tons of cool flavors, and you can still get your nic./fix? Unbeatable! I've smoked a pack+ per day for many years (almost 20 - ugh!), and since hitting e-cigs (for the past 5 days or so), I don't think I've smoked more than 3-4 analogs on any of those days, and only 1 or 2 on a couple of those days.

For those of you having analog-itis, my advice would be to approach it this way...try not to think so much about the negative side....the craving that's trying to pull you back, but instead, try to focus on all the positives of the e-cigs...all those cool flavors, you can now smoke in your house/car with no stinky smell, MUCH healthier (in my opinion at least), etc... And if you get an urge to smoke an analog, hell, go ahead and hit one, but do this - really focus on the taste, and ask yourself if that dirty tasting smoke is really better-tasting, or is it just years of addiction trying to trick you into thinking that it's better tasting...that's what I've been focusing on, and it's workin' well for me!

Hi,
I've been vaping for 5 days and although I wanted to quit smoking immediately, I still smoke about 1 -2 analogs a day. I really want to quit completely and I'm hoping when the last pack I bought (Thursday) runs out I'll be able to quit for good... right now the temptation is still too strong knowing they're there. I only have 2 left, so I'm starting to get a bit nervous.

What was your experience like - did you quit completely, or did it take a little time to finally ditch those nasty smokes?

On the plus side, I created one of those vaping banners (that I can't attach yet since I don't have enough posts) and I HAVE passed up 85 analogs, so that's what I'm trying to focus on right now.

Yup, I quit smoking and never looked back. Vaping rulz
