given how high it ranks on hoefer's rta list and vic's top ten, i been looking at the elevate. it's the discontinued one i asked you guys abt, can only get it from wotofo's site. ichecked there since it's dincontinued, to find what has made it redundant, and it seems the 'newer better thing' now is the profile which isn't top air.

SO before i lose the option i'm about to grab it, unless someone stops me (please do so if there's any issues with it you've heard of or forsee; if it's too tricky to wick, leaks, gurgles, floods, or the paint peels (because only painted ones are now available, but they'll go with my new vappresso gen i think).

if yes there's also a discount on getting the bundle with cotton adn coils from wotofo. please advise if i should order some (and if so which coils), or if it's better to grab something from CB or FT.

btw this is all based on the idea that in the long run it'll be cheaper and more convenient to DIY, right?

Thanks all for being so helpful and fun!
    and
Blames all for enabling these two new addictions i seem to have replaced the 'logs with!

@AngeNZ i could swear i'd replied to your last post. apologies and gratitude. watched it again and then some. it's plan B now to get the clone.

    Yes to the Elevate
Yes to coils - tri-core or quad core
    Yes to cotton

And yes, using RTAs is a lot cheaper than drop in coil tanks.

Let me know when you want to start using a 'tank' with 8ml capacity, even better flavour than RTAs and the atomiser doesn't leak ;)

    Here's a clue: Squonking

Ange is the best! She has helped me so much and also finds good deals :thumb: I've been following this thread because after doing MTL all this time, I'm getting more into restricted DL now. My friend (mentor) keeps trying to get me into squonking... I keep promising some day I will surprise him and say "guess what I just got" ;) Building (and DIY juices) is not an easy road to follow (I mean more like a deep rabbit hole) but I am so sick of being a slave to drop-in coils and pre-made juices that are just too sweet. There is going to be "bumps" in the road... it's all part of the game. BTW, right now I'm interested in the Augvape Intake and the OBS Engine ( and the Hellvape Rebirth RTA) Hope you are successful in your building adventures.

not sure if youve metioned having tried the Serpent Elevate.. it's higher on Shawn's (1st, which i took with a grain of salt coz he knows/works/friends with the designer) and Vic's (2nd in 2018, it's competitors are bottom airflow and he did in fact consider OBS and Intake, praise them but they didnt make his best-of-list) lists.

since it's discontinued, sold out every where and there's decent holiday sale on the manufacturer's site_ you might want to do the same and make the order if you're looking for smthn too
    Wotofo Serpent Elevate RTA

oh right! we still haven't picked up the juice conversation_ apologies, indeed_ where are you on that?

I didn't look at it because I assumed it was expensive... holy crap I'm all over that deal! Watched two reviews... looking good.
I avoid those multiple coil type packs... would rather just get ones I choose (I like fused claptons) Someone told me to try simple "flat" wire too (I forgot the brand but it's very good quality) Works good slightly spaced too.

The 26*2/39 Fused Claptons aside, the coils are garbage.
    hallo delicate flower!
what coils do you recommend i pray. they should be 3mm minimum i think DJLsb or someone said. Elevate would prbably leak or overflood or something at 2mm.
what your tool kit by the way?

@vaper1960 i watch reviews before purchase almost alwauys.. but there's quite a few recommenders here i trust more...

Coilology offers some adequate Fused Claptons.

easy on the praise there! i take it you only like DIY from the get-go?
thanks i'll stick to those then
Not quite. I use premade spools of clapton wire to wrap my own coils mostly, although I sometimes use premade coils when I'm in a hurry. Building my own exotic wires isn't worth the effort to me.

Coilology's fused clapton coils use a 36ga outer wrap most of the time. Those coils work well, especially on regulated mods, but since I switched to mechs, I prefer 38ga or even 40ga wraps for a faster ramp up.

just a quick research update, since it was discussed here:

according to DJLsb Brunhilde MTL can well be used for RDL with the loosest or no air-flow-rings.

That's Exactly how I vape my Brunhilde @virm . RDL, No inserts and airflow hole wide open. It makes for a 6.2mm size airflow all up.
And I watched the same review on the Brunhilde MTL before I got it and I can guarantee you that he didn't push the tank to over 50 watts, which is what you're after. I'm pretty sure he had it at about 30 watts.

I'm not trying to put you off getting a Brunhilde MTL mate I just think it's worth getting feedback from someone who has used it at a high wattage first so they can let you know how the tank reacts:)

Have you put up a thread on the Brunhilde MTL to get some feedback from other users yet?
There's a more and more people on the Forum buying one!!
I still think you should get the Big Sister Brunhilde dual coil;)

yea no_ just meant for reference. not adamant abt the wattage at all, in fact was pretty rather sure, circling the drain comfortably toward the single Brunhilde, despite the hesitation on account of the size (even the small one is big)__
plan was since i'm well stocked up on stock coils, with 3 DL tanks and the Zlide i'd wait a couple of months, learning more the meanwhile and prices might keep dropping / or a new game shifting tank might drop

then saw the Elevate was discontinued/selling out, remembered it was top of the list for recommendations and rushed lest i lose the option_ it's a charming one as well, stupid serpent notwithstanding

might still get the single Brunhilde down the road, for RDL or MTL (i still wreheally enjoy my zlide, so much so i have the new zenith pro (or is it D323432...?) in mind if i'm to turn into a stocker--upper)

oddly enough, i've never tried the 20-40w range_ all the stocks i've had are either 40-80w DL or the 10-18 coils of Zlide (there's a new 20something one coming out with the new Zenith though, should be zlide compatible, though one can't change the airflow on it like with the new tank)

anyway, i realize wattage said like that probably means nothing when you're dealing with rba's so... yeah.. thanks for all the advice and indulgence

As long as you don't use 28ga single wire, you could run the MTL Brunhilde at 30 plus watts no problem.

I think you'll find you will use lower watts with RTAs than you do with stock coils. Stock coils cram a hell of a lot of cotton and wire into a tiny place, and to get flavour you need more power.

But with a spread out deck like an RTA - it all just works more efficiently

    everything becoming tangibly clear. thanks_

i'm getting curious as to how many 30-40w-stock-coils there is out at all. new excuse to go catalogue-skimming_
