Very nice post. a couple thoughts.
1. I mirrored your experiences 18 months ago - including losing a parent to smoking.
2. Your perseverance will get you through this. Trust me on this.
3. You will probably lose your taste buds a couple times in the next few months for a day or two.
4. Ego-T does not work well with changing flavors. There's just too much juice in the atty.
5. Some day soon, you will be the expert to someone else. Trust me on this, too.

Have fun on your camping trip. You know everyone will have to try out your new toy - even the non-smokers.

I also tried the plain tobacco flavors right away and I did not like it at all. I was looking down a list and found a flavor that was a vanilla bean and it was just like the pipe and cigar smell flavor my father smoked for years. Loved it and that is what replaced all the tobacco flavors. you said a cigar type, try it. Any kind of vanilla. Been analog free for 3 weeks since.

Ego C is a great unit but I highly discourage using those tanks...

Get some 510 cartos

and in the meantime buy MUCH higher nic juice.

Funny thing about ultra lights or light cigarettes is that people usually pull harder or longer to get more nicotine out of that... remember that the only difference between lights and regular cigarettes are tiny holes in the filter...
When first quitting smoking I'd suggest getting 24mg juice and seeing how that curbs the cravings. Don't toss that 6 mg juice tho! It could always be mixed with the 24 for a slightly lowered nic juice.

Just don't throw anything away! teehee, it could always be sold/traded/used up eventually

Sorry you lost a parent to smoking. It kills so many. :( My tastebuds are, yeah, not so good right now. I'm drinking a lot of water, and straight up eating lemons and brushing a lot, but I'm hoping that this too will pass. Yeah, I agree about the ego-t atty, and wish my second one would come back. I've got a clearomizer on the way, too. I thought I had the hang of using the cartomizers, but after a few hits, it starts tasting bad. Sometimes it's peppery, which I've read is a burnt cartomizer, but these are clear and are absolutely soaked. -shrug- When I get my other atomizer, I'll just clean it and try the same juices that I've tried in the cartomizers and see how it goes. I may just be one of the ones who just doesn't like the taste of the cartomizers.

I'm already sortakinda educating people about vaping, even though I'm such a noob. I tried to get a bar to let me vape the other night, but no chance. lol. But I do have a friend who's about to start on this road, and I want to help her stop smoking. She is one of my RA buddies, and though smoking is bad for everyone, it's especially bad for us due to our disease and also due to some of the meds we have to take.

I am sure a lot of people will want to try it out, so I will probably just have a separate one and carry some alcohol wipes. I can't be vaping after a bunch of people because of aforementioned meds which compromise my immune system. But I do wanna share!!!

Anyway, thanks for your support, I really appreciate it.

Yesterday I lit up a cigarette while I was waiting for a cartomizer to soak completely, took 3-4 drags, and it was completely unsatisfying, and smelled like burnt popcorn, but worse. So I think it's safe to say I'm done with the analogs. Today is day 9 vaping. YaY @ my banner in my sig!!

Thanks, everyone! One other really nice thing I noticed is that brushing my teeth is so much nicer. None of the brown gunk on my tongue. I was going to get my teeth whitened before I hit the road (It's a reward I've planned for myself when I started trying to quit 4 yrs ago), but I decided to wait till I get back home, because I will be drinking tons of WOODS coffee. lol! Trip is postponed and I won't be leaving until tomorrow (van's brakes went, wow, terribly wrong, one of the pads stuck to the rotor!), but I'll be ready, and will be a happy camper, literally haha! It's been so liberating to leave the house without my cigs. :)

I am smoking 18 and 24 now, and I think that's what really got me over the hump of wanting to reach for a cig. Don't worry, I've been working on some sort of organization system to keep all my juices, stoppers, caps, everything! Never know!
