Thank u Nico for every thing u did for us now i can make 10 in 4hrs I'm a dsl fiber tech with 15 yrs of soldering under my belt. Now my friends want them how much should i charge them for a 10 dollar box from RS? LOL. The name will always be the Nicobox,Also how much in royalties do i send you?

It's open source, baby. Make them to your heart's content. The more you make, the less I have to make. You are all quite welcome. Madog and Bastage gave me the information I lacked to build mods. Now it is my turn to pass it on or "pay it forward". This little hobby (addiction, really) has given me a creative outlet and a chance to make friends here. The least I can do is give others the same opportunity.

One little note to those giving this a try - I had made the original Nicostick, so when I started on the new one, I didn't think ahead and wired everything up without setting the switch in position in the box. With the small switch in the version 1, this was not an issue. With the new model, because of the larger switch, it meant that I had to cut some already soldered wires to put the switch in place, then rewire. This new switch needs to be inserted from the top down, does not float in and out like the smaller one. Hope my mistake ends up saving someone the hassle of rewiring! I put my new one together prior to the new instructions being out. Great job on the new instructions, by the way! Anyone following them should not run into this problem. I only did because of having done the original NicoStick and assuming that the switches would install the same way. You all know what they say about assuming! Lesson learned.

You did it! You ran into snags and found your own way to work around the problem. You didn't have to ask me one thing. Emsmom, you did great! You now have a skill you could teach your son and have lots of cool projects together. I am very happy to hear of your success.

Walter--I have used 12 over these switches and have never had an issue---I think you might have the wrong part number as it is part #275-0664----Sun

Sun's fingers must have slipped! It should be #275-644.
The #275-1547 were the switches Nico used on the original Nicostick thread using the 2 AAA Box.

I've been using submini 275-1571. They do okay as long as you don't drop from altitude onto a tile floor directly crashing switch into floor. This accident began a slow and mysterious death that became terminal within the next 20 puffs.

They also may offer you a problem if you take 45 second hits.

Damn question - for charging protected 14500 batteries all we need is a regular 3.6/3.7V Li-ion Battery Charger and not a special charger for "protected" batteries, right?

That is the one I use--Great Unit. I bought 3 of them here-- Ultrafire wf-139 Lithium Ion battery charger 14500 - 18670 --s couple of more dollars but you are not waiting forever for an order---good protected batterise also-----------Sun

Since I don't have an adapter worked up yet for the 801, or the 510, I just use the atomizer connector from a donor battery for both. Everything is the same. Nothing would change for the 801 from what I have already instructed here. The pictures would just show a larger atomizer hole and the 801 atomizer instead of the 510.

Thanks for the reply Nicowolf--so you are saying that just the size of the atomizer hole would have to be bore larger and use an old battery thread from one of my old 801 batteries? Thanks in advance again Summer

Or you can use a ¼" phone jack from rat shack (pn 274-0252), a #10 x ¾" machine screw (with some grinding on the head) and a piece of insulation jacket from #6 stranded copper or ¼" poly tubing (the kind with ID of around 0.175"). This makes an excellent connector.

Thanks Crazyhouse--can you tell a me what I could use to "grind" the head of the screw--I do not have a grinder per se--is there an attachement of a drill you can buy?? Summer

You might be able to chuck the wheel into your drill, but its made for a dremel. Dremels are pretty cheap and incredibly useful, just try not to start cutting things in half because you can..it's tempting.

ok,so i went to RS today and bought the parts for my nicostick. i also found a 3.6v lithium battery there(spent way too much on it). everything went together pretty easily, but it doesnt work. could it be the battery? or did i mess up somewhere? i thought the battery would work since it is a 3.6v lithium. i dont know where to go from here. any help is appreciated.
