I usually make 5 or 10 ml batches at first. I make my desired unflavored, and just add 1 drop a day until it tastes right.

Well, OK, that makes sense. If you can't remember how many drops, you need a notebook. After you get it tasting right, you will probably want to keep using the same amount of flavoring.

I sure hope it has an ashy taste. I really miss that taste for some odd reason.
I was buying Hangsen Desert Ship locally for a while and it had steeped several months on the shelf. It had this fantastic cigarette paper flavor along with the sweet Turkish tobacco exhale that I have not found anywhere else. It's one of the things I'm trying to figure out with DIY. I'll go so far as to add some inert rice paper ash to my mix if I have to.
I have Hangsen Desert Ship, but I've mixed it too strong in the past. I need to try it again. That sounds delicious ! Thanks VM

I haven't been able to get the cigarette paper thing from the Tobacco Essence or even fresh premixed Hangsen Desert Ship. Maybe the local shop was adding something or maybe it was the four month steep.
I add about 5 drops of very diluted Tobacco Absolute per 10ml liquid and 5 drops each of Desert Ship and Turkish Blend Tobacco Essence flavorings and I really like that. A lot of people describe Tobacco Absolute as ashy, but so far it doesn't have that cigarette paper ash thing I was describing. It's become a Grail quest.
TA doesn't taste ashy to me also. It's more like a fresh tobacco taste, like snus. That sounds like a very good recipe. I bet it's robust. I need to dig up my TA and try that. I'll steep that Desert Ship and date the bottle. I have so much juice made, it'll be worth the wait. If the RY6 is even close to a cig, I'm going to mix it with some of the Essence flavors.
I use the ecigexpress Signature Label "Tobacco Absolute Diluted" further diluted by adding only 3 drops of that into 3ml of PG and mix and steep that, then use 5 drops of the very diluted Tobacco Absolute into 10ml base along with the Tobacco Essence flavorings.
Tobacco Absolute is the extracted essential oils of Turkish tobacco, so it all works out pretty well. I think the Neutral Tobacco Essence in the Hangsen flavoring is probably also very similar to very diluted Tobacco Absolute, but the extra kick gives more richness. Still no damn cigarette paper ashiness though.
What do you think adding a tiny bit of completely combusted white ash from a burned rolling paper would do in a mix?

I'm curious if the ash would blend well. Only 1 way to find out.
Yeah...I may go ahead and try this week, maybe tomorrow. The only rolling papers I have left are the ones that used to come with Top tobacco. I'd rather use a quality rice or hemp paper, but these should be alright for an experiment.
If it doesn't blend well in PG, I'll filter it through a coffee filter and see if any flavor remains.
If you've ever seen how they make liquid smoke by running it through a condenser you could probably do the same with some rolling papers. If you have some hickory or oak smoke flavoring, you might be able to dilute it way down and get close to paper burning.
I've wondered about doing the liquid smoke thing with burning tobacco...probably too many carcinogens, but I bet it would taste real!
If just dissolving rolling paper ash into PG doesn't work maybe I will try the liquid smoke thing sometime this summer.
I read a post somewhere that Dekang Parliament flavor has that cigarette paper taste...ever tried that?

The Njoy bold disposable taste like it has ash in it. Have you tried FA oakwood or black fire? It may add a hint of smokiness in your mix.
I just looked at vapor Renu... They have RY6 on the menu. It states it is usa mixed but unsure if it is Hangsen or Dekang?

That seems like it might be good, as long as it doesn't start to taste like beef jerky or something.
I don't have many flavors yet and those seem like they'd be good ones to have for enhancing tobacco flavors.
Other "tobacco adjusters" I'd like to try:
Bitter Wizard, Ethyl Maltol, MTS Vape Wizard.
I read black walnut is good with tobacco flavors too, and maybe caramel ...

I'm trying to do a nice sour lemon vape. I have Lemon from TFA and it's a little sweet by itself.
I also have Tart and Sour from LorAnn.
For a 15 ml batch, can someone please give me some advice on how much Tart and Sour to use? I don't want the vape to turn my face into a prune (it's almost there anyway), but I do want a nice "pinch" on my tongue.
I'm just afraid of overdoing it and getting a sickly sweet flavor.
Any other recommendations to make a sour flavor will be greatly appreciated.

I have tried the tobacco absolute but didn't care for the grassy taste I then switched to the tobacco extract from TPA and it is alot better but it has to be diluted
