Most hot spots occur at the top wire going to the positive post when they pull that last piece of wire to wrap around the top of the positive post breaking the oxidation layer which is very thin to begin with.
You want that last piece of wire parallel to the positive post - straight inline with it.
Before doing so with thumb gently nudge your wick toward the positive post and hold it there and with other hand wrap that last piece of wire to post , when tightening that nut be careful it does not pull the wire and digs into the mesh wick.

When you wrap mesh wick do the ground first and when coiling around mesh imagine wrapping a piece of string around your finger not tight but just taught enough to hold it place and try doing that with the kanthal just taught enough to hold it in place on the mesh.

Once done dry fire the coil at low voltage to see if your coils glow somewhat evenly working the voltage up little at a time to see them glow.
Fill tank give it a minute to self saturate your wick, if useing a mod a vv mod you should be able to keep it fireing until its cutoff and never see any wire on your wick glowing .

The best Genesis have the wick hold drilled right next to the positive post .

Zap report. Well I re-coiled it this morning and got it working good but took it back off cause of the poor taste. Then I remembered that I have a very potent DIY menthol that I use once in awhile ONLY as a mixer cause it's so strong. Well I put this full strength in my Zap and I have enough taste to curl my hair and clean my sinuses out for the next six months. Too bad I can't vape it.

    Hi Fran ,
do you have a mod that tells the ohms and volts/wattage like vamo
Dont ask how i know. rofl.

Anyway 3/4 wrap with 32g @8.5 watts with my DiY RY4 is nice .
The vamo's have been excellent and the smoktech mini zmax also.

I think it's 2.2ohms if I'm reading this Provari at the right number of clicks.

What are the top tobacco flavors at ECX? I'm wanting to get 5-6 of them to try, I was leaning towards the FA ones. Also is one similar to PinkSpot's USA Blend? Just starting DiYing and gonna place first order of flavors. Having trouble narrowing the list so I'm gonna try to get top 5-10 from each category of flavors. I'll ask about the other categories in a later post, just trying to nail down a few solid tobaccos first.

FA is great. Personally I like Desert Ship, Perique Black, Dark Vapure, and Virginia. I find myself vaping more Hangsen tobaccos these days. I love the natural tobacco extract that Hangsen offers. Once you nail that perfect percentage. There's nothing like them.

So Ive been vaping this Hangsen 555 for a while now and its good but I feel its missing something. Its kind of just nutty and dry.Was thinking it needs some caramel or vanilla.Any suggestions?
Also thinking of getting the Hangsen Ry4,so would I be better off just getting the RY4 and just moving on from the 555? As long as the ry4 tastes like caramel and vanilla and not licorice it seems like that would be more cost effective and better tasting.Opinions please :)

I use to vape the dekang 555 alot and desert ship and loved them but feel like my own mixes just doesnt taste the same.Should I be adding something to them to make them more like the dekang versions?

Jimi where are you need help!!!

Have you tried adding any AP to it? Vanilla works really good with the Desert Ship (thanks Toweknee:)) and the 555. I used the NF Vanilla Cream but would suggest the vanilla swirl if you have it.

I was eating a slim jim today and noticed that Malt Extract is one of the listed ingredients. Weird hunh? Unfortunately I will no longer be eating any slim jims b/c it also had "mechanically seperated chicken" listed and that just freaks me out a little. It just sounds bad.

If it aint mechanically seperated it aint worth eating!

I have some TFA vanilla swirl. How much should I add? And Ive never used AP.What does it taste like and what does it add to the mix?

Never used vanilla swirl but might have to pick it up.

The AP I use .75 % or 5 drops per 30 ml. Start at 2% with the vanilla and then bump to taste. When I do vanilla/tobaccos I make two batches of 30 ml. One to test every day and the other stays at my original ratio and steeps. By the time I have an idea where I like the vanilla I can compare it to steeped. Having the two me helps a lot and ends up saving me juice in the long run. Different vanilla will need different ratios too they are not all the same as you guys already know. I actually like using FW Vanilla Bean Ice Cream but Bavarian Cream both TPA and NF work well too. I actually going to mix a desert ship with this English toffee as well as a batch of Malty Toffee!

The Vanilla Swirl is good.To me its tastes like a vanilla with slight creamy coconut undertones to it :)Its not bad as a stand alone for when you want something light tasting and not to complex.I mix mine at 8 to 10% when making it to vape as a stand alone.
