Got my supplies to diy today, but I forgot to order pg ,and only ordered nic vg and flavorings. As you know vg is really thick, so I need to dilute it. I don't have any distilled water so can u use filtered tap water? I also have a bottle of usp glycerine that I bought a while ago, is there a difference between pg and straight glycerine? It's usp grade. Can I cut it with that?

What you have is Vegetable Glycerin USP. PG is Propylene Glycol USP. I use Distilled water to dilute if it's too thick but think using a few drops of filtered water per tank will be fine. Your flavors are also in PG or PGA most likely. I know a lot of people who mix only in VG, use the 20% number to mix juice. Meaning they want a total of 20% between the flavor and water to dilute VG.

EX: if you were using 10% flavor, then you could add 10% DW or in your case filtered water. I would add the water to a tank a few drops at a time until I reached my desired consistency. DW can be had for about $1.00 per gallon at a grocery store by me.

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks steve, the flavors I got are from tpa, can't get much taste tho, I made a couple small batches to try out. Do you think if they steep the flavors will come out? I basically taste nothing it's really blah

Using pure VG will usually benifit from steeping because with it being thicker, I think it takes longer for the flavor molecules to combine with it. What flavor % did you use in your mix, if you don't mind me asking? I have mostly TPA/TFA flavors. Here's a link that can give you an idea where to start on some of the TFA flavor %:

I make RY4 Double all the time at 8% with 1 drop of AP per 5ml and really like it. I sometime add 1-2% of Caramel and Vanilla Swirl to it for a sweet treat. I've made RY4 Asian once at 4% and it wasn't my favorite. I've never had the plain RY4.

Cotton Candy is the same thing as EM so I wouldn't really expect a lot of taste but I've never made it as a juice. I only use it at 1% or less once in awhile to add body or sweetness (it's not a sweetener but can give a sense of sweetness) to a juice.

I'm pretty surprised that your not getting much flavor with the Vanilla/Caramel mix.

Cheers,
Steve

I tried the vanilla/caramel mix again this morning and it seems to be getting more flavorful, however, the nic I got has a very pungent scent, and it seems like that's the taste I get mostly. My batches were all 18mg but either the nic hasn't mixed well yet or I need to lower my mg per batch to eliminate some of the taste. The vape isn't terrible and it still satisfying the cravings so it's not a loss. That's why I made small batches. Thankfully I have a lot of good info from you and others on here to make this work in the long run.

I've read tractor supply carries pg, though I don't know if it's usp grade. I agree with Steve, on using water. Distilled is best but I used bottled water for a couple of small batches with no issue. I'd imagine it's harder on the atomizer though. I typically do 15% flavoring + water but my recipes tend to be lower flavor % then most. Be careful, you may find you like the vg vape better.
