All DIY liquid need sweetener?
Tried Redman flavorings but it isn't sweet enough
Tried Lorann's Cheesecake and after steeping for a week it only has the flavor but it isn't sweet at all.

Can't get it to be as good as juices from neighbours :(

You probably need flavours from premium vendors. TFA/Capella/FA/FW/FLV etc

Not all needs sweetener, as what @Attyca said premium vendors usually the flavourings are tuned with sweetness by itself already.

neighbours juice are usually spammed with sweeteners
agree with WarA, they always gunk up my coils!

I've tried with PH with no success. 1st time tried with 40/60 (PG/VG) with PH as 40% since it contains PG. superbly fail with very bad taste with a distinct emulsion.

I guess that's the fun of DIY, you get to experiment and tune it to your preferences. the connoisseurs at the recipe section of ECF offer numerous recipes that are really good! of course the flavorings are not readily available here, but with a little bit of work comes a long long way [emoji1]

not wanting to fail on our local flavoring, I've used Phoon huat's Konnyaku Green Apple (already PG) with PG and VG (50/50) at 20%, so far so good. dose it with a little menthol and it's all good, clear mixture and smells not too bad, still steeping.

Using sweeteners is fine. But I got tired of using them. If you guys have tried the US juices, you will notice that they don't use it at all or maybe just a little bit. Malaysian juices use a lot of sweeteners. Makes my cotton turn a diff colour and gunk up my coils real fast.

My advice is to just use sweeteners if it helps you to like your juices. Same with menthol or koolada. Always have them as you can just add them to your bad batches and maybe make your 'sock juice' vape-able.

Another important thing to note; don't put too much flavourings concentrate. A good guage is the flavourings make up about 10-20% of the total volume/weight of the juice. Too much of a concentration will actually make your tastebuds not taste anything as it is overloaded. Making a 50vg/50pg mix for your first batch of that recipe helps. The PG is important for the taste as it is the flavour carrier. VG helps with the vapor.

Try to use weight as a means of measurement. Really helps lessen the time spent cleaning. It is also very accurate and consistent.

One last point. Don't fill your bottles to the brim. For example; fill 25ml to a 30ml bottle. This will help you A LOT when you want to shake and mix at the end. Wait at least 30min-1hr before you try your juice. Let the air bubbles settle first.

I hope this helps you guys who are new to DIY. Don't give up easily. I have made really awesome juices. It can be done. Good luck!

P.s. Sorry for the long post. If I missed anything do tell me.

@Obsync 2 weeks to steep? wow I didn't have that patience to wait that long. I gave it about 5 days, the taste is rather mild. now bumping up to 40% konnyaku with 50/50 with 5% sweetener. fingers crossed that this might yield some decent results. got konnyaku strawberry but it sure smells funky (strong chemical smell) , different from the juicy sweet smell by TPA

@Obsync the local ones are quite okay, the flavours are strong. but quite perfumy to my liking sometimes.. I did a 50/50 PG/VG with 20% konnyaku Green Apple and 2% Sweetener (TFA) and it came out... very muted. might up the green apple to 30% and see how that works out. Sweetener actually helped to bring out the flavour more.. but abit wasteful to my liking.

I went TFA because of the abundance of recipes available online so that's easier for me to pick it up. but it can be a hit or miss. works for some, not for rest at times. one man's meat can be another's poison. haha

@lollipoopz how it sucks? what mixture did you concoct? proportions? let's share so we all can learn.
