I've been wondering along a similar line Nightsong. I am just getting into DIY and trying to decide what flavors to order. I can only order a couple to start, and I have been wavering between the Bavarian Cream and Sweet Cream from PA.

I can't figure out which one would be more universally useful. Any advice? Thanks!!

Neither are very useful at all on their own to be honest. They are weak and/or taste odd at high strengths, so most use them as complimentary flavors.

If you can only afford $3 + shipping and you want a creamy flavor that can stand alone, you might try Vanilla Custard or Vanilla Ice Cream.

If you're going to mix them with other flavors, the Bavarian Creme is more universal than Sweet Cream. Sweet Cream is a touch sour and not just plain creamy.

Are you referring to Capella's for the Vanilla Custard and Vanilla Ice Cream or ... ?
Thanks!

Many companies have Strawberry and although I haven't tried PA's yet, FA's is the most natural and realistic one I've found. Usually this is true with FA for fruit flavoring (except the Blackberry I had, which was musty and sock tasting).

There is also a Meringue flavor by FA which is weak but tasty. With that I use Graham Cracker from PA, and to round it out you can use Butter and/or other creamy flavors and a sweetener if you want. PA also has new Pumpkin Pie Spice and Molasses flavors which might be useful for some pies as well.

A lot of commercial e-liquids just throw in a bit of Cinnamon with their Apple and call it Apple Pie, though.

I have a question on DIY.

How does one come up with a "pie" taste like for lemon merinque or Strawberry Pies.

What is the best Strawberry flavoring out there?????

I've been trying to work on coming up with a good "pie" and "cake" base.

I have used a combination of PA's graham cracker, Capella's crumb cake & cinnamon danish swirl. Sometimes adding gingerbread too.

DIYFlavorshack has pound cake & doughnut flavoring. I was going to try some of that next.

PA's strawberry is really good!

Thanks to you both........was wondering about PA's Strawberry.....reviewer said it was weak....I assume you use Strawberry at 20% flavor, Red?

Think I will ask Linda at PA about coming up with a meringue flavor....

I hope you both and actually, everyone has a good day today....it's Friday..TGIF

I didn't think it was weak. I used about 15%. It's definitely one of the strongest of the fruit flavors I've tried from PA. Probably only second to pear.

Stupid DIY question:

I've read that VG has to be diluted, is that just for 100% VG juice, or will I need to dilute it also if I'm going to mix it with PG?

Generally I don't need to dilute it unless I go over about 40% VG, and if I do then I dilute it less than I would 100% VG. It just depends on how well it vapes for you, even at 100% VG some people dilute less than others. No such thing as a stupid question.

It depends on how much cobbler you like with your fruit. The crumb cake is strong on cinnamon IMHO so if you like that I'd go as high as 18 drops in 10 ml. If you like less, I'd go with around 10. I've made raspberry, peach, blueberry and apple cobbler. The amount of fruit depends on the brand you are using and how much fruit you like.
