Long time member but this is my first post. I'm generally a better lurker than poster.

Well since I must have 20 posts to be verified I figured I might as well crawl out of my shell and speak up.

I might as well start it off with a question:

Has anyone found D'Jarum Clove juice anywhere other than VaporKings.com. That was one of my first juices and far superior to other "clove" blends I've tried. Some even just taste like biting into a clove *yuck*.

I was wondering if anyone had seen any other vendors or any of D'Jarum's variations.

myfreedomsmokes has a djarum vanilla and a djarum cherry. Both of those are right on the money (djarum vanillas used to be my #1 go-to when they were available). They have a djarum black, but to me it's off - too much of one flavor that overpowers the others. I'm not sure what it is, but to me its reminiscent of like a mandarin orange zest. It's a flavor that belongs in the mix, but is out of balance from where it should be.

Wow, those are some quick replies. And indeed thanks are in order - Thank you!

I'm excited to know that there are more D'Jarum options out there. There seem to be so many e-cig vendors it's difficult to browse them all, let alone be aware of them all. So the advice is much appreciated :)

I went back to cigs a while ago because I wasn't putting the time into cleaning/filling/charging that I should. I have decided to replace the 808 setup I have and go full 510. Basically I'm going to reboot my ecig and try to quit again. To avoid problems and get a good start I think I will try to find a vv/vw with 18650 and a vivi nova 3.5 tank (and a handful or cartos to fill in the gaps). Thumbs up for the VAMO?

#1: YES thumbs up for the vamo - can't reccomend it strongly enough. there may be some slightly better quality uinits out there, but the price/performance ratio is off the charts - theres nothing to compare to it.

#2: Vivi nova 3.5 ml is DEFINITELY the way to go. Get three of them, and you'll be all set for quite awhile. This lets you keep a couple of flavors ready and in rotation, as there's nothing quite as irritating as having to wait to vape because your one and only reliable coil and feed system are needing a refill, but just got done a juice that doesn't mix well with the only juice you've got left. gat a 5 pack of the coil heads with your 3 vivi novas and you should be set like a jet!

#3 get at least 4 18350 batts. the 18350 in dual battery mode removes the limiting factor on available power, all the way out to 15 watts on even the highest VN coil head, and offers damn near the batt life of a single 18650. With 4, you'll be able to always have a fresh pair waiting.

#4 another top device that may be worth your while is the oft overlooked Vision eternity. Technically it's a rebuildable dripper, but I have found it to be a really excellent solution for vaping at the desk or in my recliner. Slightly better V/T/F than a vivi nova. Pre wound coil/wick combos can be had that make rebuilding a snap.

Hallo! I am new too and looking for a good clove flavor. We tried V4L's and DIYFlavorShack's clove and they did not sit well with either either of us. I think it was a combination of the flavors not suiting us and our newb status when ordering. In my introduction thread there are a lot of recommendations and I am going to order some this weekend. If I remember, I will let you know how it goes here, too.

Good luck! And remember: in everything, everyone was a newb at some point. :vapor:

Dzaw - just the words I needed to hear. Thank you for the excellent info... again!

Like I said, I'm a long time lurker. I read and research and it's definitely nice to hear that I've come to similar conclusions as others.

I believe I'll be following your advice nearly to a T.

Patient C - I'll pay attention if you post up the reviews. I was never a clove smoker but for some reason it's a really nice flavor.

This appears to be a good deal. I realize that shipping will take some time (up to a month, yikes!), but my biggest concern is will I be getting what I thought I was getting. I wonder if the Vivi Novas they include are some knock-off? The buttons also do not look metal. Hmm..

Thoughts?

DISCLAIMER:
The problem with clove flavors in general is that clove oil is, well, an oil. Vaporized oils in general are bad. They leave deposits on wicks and coils that dramatically shorten working life, stain and damage tank plastics, and longtime exposure to some vaporized oils can cause something called paraffin lung, or popcorn lung. (names taken from the industries where it pops up) There is one oil based butter flavor called diacetyl, the one used to flavor microwave popcorn (see above) that has more or less been unofficially banned from ecigs for this reason.

That said, if you don't care and just want a really realistic flavor, the best I ever had was from tasty vapor called "kretek" which is the style of cigarette a d'jarumm actually is. The name is a south Asian onomatopoeia for "crackle" (example: guns go "PAN!" in Belgium instead of "BANG!")

I haven't smoked it in a long time because back then I was using a plain old 510 atty/cartridge on a mini battery and the deposits were bad enough it burned through an atty in a week or less. Wonderful flavor though, you could actually taste the sugar coated filter, burning paper, and it produced the same tongue numbing sensation of a regular dhjarumm.

the whole build up thing may have gotten better with modern equipment, but I haven't felt the need to try it again. This was years ago too so YMMV

I have a blend that I made which is 50% Johnson Creek Marcado, 30% VaporKings D'Jarum Black and 20% Desert Ship (all at 18mg). I think it hits the mark pretty well--it has a hint of turkish tobacco, and is sweet and clovey without being bitter or overpowering, and it has that authoritative throat-hit that we expect from a clove cig without being rough or harsh.

I'm currently working on DIY clove to approximate this flavor, and hope to have it "dialed in" by this summer...

There's an awesome local shop near me,in Fitchburg MA, called "Rebel Smoke" that mixes 100% VG 'clove' flavored juice, and it is amazing!!! Instantly reminded me of the old school D'Jarums... Idk if they have a fancy website or not, but it might be worth a google and a call.

Does it do the clove mouth feel thing though? AFAIK the only way to get that is to use a bunch of clove oil
