What are the new cigar's actually called? I am having NO luck finding them. And apparently, there's no way for me to message a user on this site? I'm trying to get in contact with TheLizinator, as she has seen the Djarum Special-like cigars. I cannot find any information on them, or info on where to order them, etc. Are you able to provide any assistance, Liz? A link perhaps?

Sorry, no help for ordering as I buy these at local retail tobacco shops. I have at least 6 of them in my own neighborhood and they began showing up as soon as the tobacco bill was signed. I was told they would continue stocking the cigars as the supply of regular kreteks dwindled. The regular 20 pack cigarettes are still available, they just aren't being restocked. I've never been able to purchase kreteks at anything but specialty tobacco shops.

This is a BIG part of this puzzle. I added just the tiniest bit to my cart of clove flavor and Damn! There's more to a clove than the taste, there's a "sensation" and this gets it in there! Why do "they" say not to??

I used the Eugenol as well. Upped the 4 drops per 10mil to 5-6. I put it in a 1/2 full bottle of JC Clove. When I filled my cart, I topped off with a drop or 2 of vanilla. It added that first taste of sweet I used to get on the specials.
I'm going to experiment with a tobacco base when I get more flavorings in, but for right now, this is working really well.

Thanks for the eugenol tip. I checked the pharmacies and couldn't find any. I bought some essence of clove from an herb shop and it was horrible. Had to change my atomizer after I tried it. Had a nasty perfumy type taste, not good. What are you all using for a base to add the eugenol to and specifically where are you buying it from? Someone mentioned a "Virginia" base, but I haven't seen that sold anywhere.
Hi! I'm a 30 year Djarum Special smoker, now vaper. I've tried a half a dozen different clove e-juices, but none have really hit that DS spot.
The closest I've found so far is the Black Djarum Clove from Heaven-Gifts. It's got a good real clove flavor with a light tobacco taste underneath, but it's not sweet. Dawn's clove from DIYflavorshack is really strong. Has that real clove numbing, but no sweetness or tobacco flavor.
I suspect that the Heaven-Gifts mixed with some of the DIYfs' clove and something spicy and sweet (maybe DIYfs' Red Hots?) might come really close. You could add additional clove oil to make up clove flavor strength if you needed to.
OTOH, I've found that the DIYflavorshack Red Hots satisfies my sweet spicy taste need. It's really delicious. I'm not terribly motivated to recreate Specials as I once was.

OK, you guys got me going. I've tried a couple of things and the second one is darn close to Djarum Specials.
DS Recipe (makes about 6ml)
2ml VG
1.5 ml Heaven-Gifts Black Djarum Clove
2 ml DIYflavorshack Red Hots
1 drop DIYflavorshack Clove
0.5ml Heaven-Gifts RY4
You may want to adjust the strength of the clove flavor with more or less DIYfs Clove. It's really really strong and a little makes a large difference. I tried four drops at first and it was too strong.
I suspect you could easily substitute other maker's flavors for the ones I used. For example the Liquidxpress Atomic Fireball could replace the DIYfs Red Hots. Probably could change the RY4 tobacco part too. The VG adds extra vapor and dilutes the flavor a bit; helps give a more realistic experience. I've got a few boxes of Djarum Specials and they're not real intense. You need the VG to reduce the intensity of the mix.
Anyway, thanks for getting me going on this. I really like this blend.

Your welcome, as I am revisiting this thread I decided to do a little experiment.
For those that like clove you must try this!
Eugenol Natural - 2.5ml vial
I just mixed 6 drops of Eugenol oil with 5 drops tobacco absolute diluted mix (2 drops tobacco absolute to 10ml of everclear) and .5ml of seedman.com commercial tobacco flavor top note to 9.4ml of (80% pg nic + 20% VG base) it is the a perfect clove tobacco flavored ejuice IMHO.

You guys are seriously lifesavers...after the ban, even with the "cigars"(I don't understand...the djarums have always used cigar tobacco, or at least partially) I've decided to switch to vaping. Waiting on my first 510 and VERY excited after this post, I'll definitely try to do what I can to match/find out what was in the djarum splash as well(sadly only tried it right before the ban)
I just stopped by the tobacco store for the first time since the ban and the clerk asked me where I'd been. I mentioned the ban and he brought me a carton of Specials, saying that only the Lights were banned and they had changed the packaging on the Blacks. He showed me a pack of Blacks that was the same as the normal Blacks, but said "cigars" at the bottom of the pack. He said they're the normal Blacks in a different box. I asked him if he was sure and when he'd gotten his last shipment of Specials and he said two days ago, on Nov. 4.
I bought a carton of Specials just to have one for a treat once in a while or when all my batteries are flat. Yes, I smoked one right away. Nice to know I can still get them.

Yes you cans till buy cloves but as you said they are no longer cigarettes, and the taste, draw, and smoke from the cigars is far different than the original blacks. You can buy cartons and have them shipped to the US from several websites however.
The Specials I bought are the same, still in the same pack as always. Absolutely no change at all. Same exact pack. Says: 20 KRETEC Clove Cigarettes, as I said, same, same, no change. Smoked them exclusively for eight years after they quit importing the King Size which were like Specials, but a little more mild. Believe it or not, the normal Djarum Specials are still available. I just bought a carton and smoked two of them. Read my post. The man in the tobacco store told me that the ban did not effect the Specials, only the lights. However, I did notice that the Blacks were in a different box and said, "Cigars", but I didn't buy any and can't say what they are. I'm not lying and I know my cloves.
Over here, I sincerely wish that were true. I've got an empty box of the new special 'cigars' sitting next to me. Maybe his supplier has extra cartons around, but the originals are very difficult, if not impossible to find here sadly, so these recipes are a light shining in the darkness for me. May not be this way everywhere, but I haven't seen an original pack in a while, only the new 12 Cigar packs.
I agree, the 12 pack Specials taste nasty. No 20 pack Specials anymore here.
