Is anyone familiar with the Chinese company Tesla? Saw a pic of this on Rip Trippers IG and thought I'd check it out. Anyone have one of these? Was thinking about maybe getting one.

Tesla 200W Watt TC Temperature Control Box Mod

I just read the specs from the link you provided and they make a big deal about the 510 connector spring.
  • Brass-Plated Silver Spring Loaded 510 Connection
What they are presumably saying is the spring in in the circuit path and thet is why it needs the fancy treatment. I personally would stay away from any 510 connector that has a spring as part of the conductor. Good 50 connectors like the FatDaddy have a spring but it is not in the circuit path.

I'm lost then. Why 2 amp charging port if board can only take 1 amp?
Good question, I wonder how VS incorporated their zip charging into the dna board.
Because the port is for 5V
By having 5V as a power source for charging you'd need a 4 to 5 Amp power supply to get a 2A charge at 11+ volts. Not exactly something standard USB chargers can supply :)
2A at 5V will roughly get you a 1A charge current for 3S voltage.

Gotcha.. I'm just getting too excited to get a dna 200 so I'll probably just hold out anyways. I hadn't see that one before though and got a little curious for the price

The DNA200 draws a max of 1 A from the USB, higher current rated USB supplies will typically have too less voltage drop.

Perhaps they meant to say "silver plated brass 510 pin spring loaded" ...but.....

I know what your saying but why would they go to all the trouble of a Brass-Plated Silver Spring if it wasn't part of the circuit. By the way there are some 510 connectors out there that due use the spring in the circuit. And of course that is what caused all the KF-4 problems. It went unnoticed until TC came along and then it reared its ugly head and they had to come out with a cold plated spring (and some other esoteric fixes).

Anyway that detail would worry me.

I understand completely. if you can wait about 3 or 4 weeks the Hcigar and VTbox will be available at just a little bit higher price (with a real Evolv DNA200 inside). Besides I have bought a Hana DNA200 that failed and now it is all I can do to wait until it is fixed. Once you play the the DNA 200 it is pretty hard to use anything less.

Oh Jesus, now I have to get this too. Or might cancel my VTbox200. I dunno what to do. I don't even have a PC or a laptop yet to run escribe which is a must have in my book. How much for cheapo laptop these days? Or is a PC cheaper than a laptop?

Someone posted on the Evolv forum that they got one of these to use - don't know if it will work OK.

I would be lying if I said I wouldn't want it faster, but it is still 5 W/h so a 900 mAh (10 Wh) will charge in around 2 hours. I am used to charging 4 VTC or 25Rs at 2 A each, good job I have 2 4x18650 power banks. I cannot get it to draw more the 500 mA form the laptop or server, but I can put the USB amps on the device screen to quickly find the best source wherever I am.

That's for sure, once you've tasted Evolv's new Kool-aid nothing else satisfies.

This absolutely could not be more true. The more I use my Opus 200, the more I do not want to go back to using anything else!

All of these DNA200 mods coming out are fantastic and offer something for everyone. I can't wait to see what else comes out so I can have something to use when my Opus is charging (or vice versa when I get another DNA200 mod). Oh so many choices, but I am soooo curious about what battery is placed in the Vapor Shark and if can indeed charge at 2A somehow. Regardless, user serviceable battery for it is really attractive by itself and when I actually held a rDNA40, I was super impressed by how it felt/the quality. Wish there was one store that had all of these mods to actually hold and make a decision, but I'll give it sometime because until then, the Opus is amazing.

You can get a HP Stream 7 for $80. You will need a USB 2 micro-B On-The-Go cable as well to connect the DNA 200 as a USB device. Works great. Duct tape the two together, run Device Monitor and you've got a pretty fancy device. :p

Yep, they mean it too. This is the company that pretty much started the high qualtiy cloning with the Terminator, Hercules and MKB-TS, GG clones. Stormy's and Discount Vapors had them and Discount Vapers broke the rule and had his supply of them cut off. I'm guessing but the Items were around 300% mark up at the time.
