Is there any vape company that does not do that? dont want to defend vapecige here, but thats old new. We just have it in written now.

There will be companies that don't do that. If it's possible to make a profit around the $100+ mark, there will be product available at that price. $160 isn't exactly unreasonable but the genie is already out of the bottle as far as knowing it can go lower. The crap rainbow heaven sells isn't exactly luxury or premium brands and if they want to go down with the retail price maintenance ship, bu bye.

A brand is built on value, not price. Rainbow heaven and its distributors could charge a million and their level of support and service would still suck.

Good job vapecige.

Not touching your product now. If there is something I hate is this bull.... that destroys competitive pricing. it just screws us over.
Let's look at it from a different angle:
  • $160 for a mod incorporates $80 board and a battery with claimed specifications and apparently similar dimensions as this Maxamps isn't outrageous (for the sake of argument now we shall not worry about the lack of the price variance on the board itself neither take the Maxamps 100C too seriously but assume it is for burst and the continuous is 50C)
  • Anything below this would eliminate small on-line retailers let alone B&Ms as only GB and FT like mammoths could afford to sell it cheaper which not necessarily good for competition either.
  • Eleaf already follows a different approach. They are behind, of course, but sooner or later will offer similar things.
  • Now it seems that Evolve can stay ahead, offering premium, or at least first to the market solutions and pricing accordingly and budget priced mass manufacturers follow as quick as they can afford/can. And we can decide whether to wait for a reasonable priced thing or get the pricey quickly.
Besides:
It was less than a year ago when I have first heard about TC, I think my first TC mod was delivered some 7 month ago. And even this very first TC purchase wasn't necessary as such.
This board is a whole lot new game. It means lots of investments and works on manufacturers side is already gone regardless if it paid off or not.
Luckily, it is not my problem. My only problem is to decide to pull the trigger now or be smart and wait. I mean, hypothetically:) In fact the parts of my DNA200 are coming my way. And they costed more than $160. But that is another story.

Sure but remember the purported purpose of retail price maintenance is so the retailers are supposedly motivated to provide service and support to the customers. Since almost none do, the game in reality is volume to lower price. Nothing stops smaller shops from building volume to become large sellers -- except the very policy we're talking about here. If everyone sells at the dictated minimum price, and provides little to no service and support as is presently industry custom, nothing differentiates one seller from another.

What we have from whatever angle is more volume equals lower pricing which drives even more volume. Retail price maintenance just screws up those natural market forces and is in many ways irrational behavior by the manufacturer. It seems to be simply copying a business model that does not apply to the actual business practices employed.

There was a vape company I heard of very recently I heard of not providing a warrenty if you purchased it for less than the recommended price and you had to send a copy of your proof of purchase etc. I forget who it was now. That's a pretty sneaky trick cos your average Joe probably didn't know until it breaks. These rules they ate making just takes out the competivness in pricing and it won't matter where you buy from. As long as they get the money for the whole sale order what does it matter after that?

And what does a company actually gain from it?
Their bulk pricing stays the same, it's the retailer/webshop that's willing to take a lower profit.
I know Apple is doing it too but hey, they're a snob company who think they're better than every other company and don't want their products associated with the word "cheap".
But a Chinese e-cig company? Come on!

The brand vapecige and model name vtbox200 are ugly words in my opinion and unless they end up like vaporshark or something I won't be proud to be seen with the brand name lol They have kindly covered their brand name all over it so you cant forget it lol The only reason I got theirs was purely because it was the cheapest way to get dna200 device, my interest is purely with evolvs product, nothing to do with vapecige as a company and being on a budget. I actually plan on wrapping mine when it arrives with 3m wrap to hide the hideous logos and make it look classy. I like the shell, shape, buttons, screw, vents & chip. When I'm done it will look elegant and classy not cheap and Chinese lol I'll post photos when I'm done and it arrives

Yihi. Instead of punishing the vendors, they punish both vendors and customers.

I'm as far from an Apple fan as one can be but at least they don't punish their customers because of this.

I would assume that a vape and a member of this forum wouldn't be so clueless and even then would double check something before posting. Any Apple product is supplied with the required guarantee, regardless of the price of the device. A shop could sell a Macbook Pro for $1 and it will still have a guarantee.

I hope people buying this VTbox200 realise that they're buying a really bulky mod, even if it has a 1800mah lipo. The mod is TWICE the size of the HanaV200.
I'll deal with that at the time, size isn't everything as long as its not as thick as a house brick! Iv looked at some pictures and it would appear acceptable to me. I would expect the better brands to have smaller cases and look a bit nicer and all that but as I said a little earlier being on a budget this was the cheapest way to get the board. There is some nice big batteries and you get used to the size after time, think when you change phones there is a break in period for your hand to adjust. Also bear in mind some people might have larger hands and like big things. There's a market out there for massive phones so you know its all fine with me (apart from the logos!)

Where did you find instructions? I'm flying totally blond right now with my opus 200 :/

Thanks.
Getting into profiles:
From unlocked state press and hold the up and down buttons for a few seconds (till it shows "power locked hold up/down") then double click up or down to get to profile and then single click to change profile.... click fire to set that profile.... press and hold up/down buttons again to exit
