I think it's great that there are (relatively) inexpensive DNA200 mods showing up.

VapeCige's ..... mod looks cool in a stormtrooper kinda way but the huge logos look dumb, almost cheap.... At this price point, I seriously doubt it's a Maxamps 1800....

.... the VT200 is a great looking mod, from the very few single sided photos I've seen.

Agree, agree, and agree expect the "almost" part in the "almost cheap".
Would love it with raw alu covers:)

VapeCige's policy on MSRP, like Yihi, is offputting. Their mod looks cool in a stormtrooper kinda way but the huge logos look dumb, almost cheap. I think this would appeal to high wattage vapers because of the big battery. At this price point, I seriously doubt it's a Maxamps 1800. I also question having magnets on a door over a lipo battery.

Iv no idea who makes the battery not a clue but I think that Max amps one was quite alot more than the turnigy ones when I was pricing up bits for a diy attempt. All the pictures iv seen that battery is wrapped and not properly visible. Im sure someone will decide to take a peek and find oit at some point though. I think the magnets are pointless if the battery isnt user replaceable, you don't need to access there otherwise. How ever both those white panels are getting wrapped on mine when it comes and possibly the black centre frame depending how tricky it turns out to be.

Evolv released firmware update to use dual 18650s with wattage cap of 133watts. Looks like dna133 vapor flask in my future

I highly doubt it. I don't think it's a good selling point for them to be like "THE DNA 200 VAPOR FLASK....Kinda it only goes up to 133" BUY OUR PRODUCT THAT IS LIKE A 100 BUCKS MORE. sure we have 70+ watts less than the competition but dude. it's a flask shaped mod.

See what I mean? it would kinda kill them. Why would somebody want to buy a weaker version of a chip while paying much more than something else that can give the FULL power.

The magnets might be handy in a way in case of lipo failure so you can atleast like rip out the lipo. Also the venting won't be as EXTREME when the lid flies off compared to a screwed down enclosed device.

Guarente there will be a huge response for a dual 18650 dna200. The firmware was released by evolv due to demand for support on their beta forums.

I wouldn't be suprised if they came out with a single battery 70w firmware next. 200 watts is a great selling point for 20% of the market that vapes super high wattage, but a majority of people will never make use of it.

Current vapor flask is a non customizable dna40 and is hugely popular, I find it hard to believe nobody would be interested in one with 3x the power capabilities and a fully customizable board, considering it would retail for roughly the same price.

I would assume that a vape and a member of this forum wouldn't be so clueless and even then would double check something before posting. Any Apple product is supplied with the required guarantee, regardless of the price of the device. A shop could sell a Macbook Pro for $1 and it will still have a guarantee.
My comment was all about manufacturers forcing retailers to sell at MSRP and punishing them if they don't. What's that got to do with warranty?

My chip arrived today.

Too bad I'm not home to play with it.
Not until Saturday morning.

Thinking on getting a shapeways boxer type mod box for it.
Any specific dual battery sled to fit the box??
I see it says keystone terminals.
Is there already slots for the terminals??
Will be using mostly 2 18650's.

Wish they would have shown a backside view.

Will also get the back extender for using li-po's.

The most people I saw complain were DIY box people. the other people were just scared of the lipo batteries.

And lets be honest now. DNA devices are a small % of the market. we who spend hundreds and thousands of dollars are definitely NOT the norm.

I just don't know how they could market it. call it a DNA 200 mod but then you have to mention that its only 133 watts. makes your product look inferior. you can yell about it only using dual batteries but then people will look at the snow wolf and the IPV3 LI that use 200 watts with dual batteries and that then again makes their product look weak.

plus I get the feeling that vaporflask is done using DNA boards.

Not possible with the current board.
As John from Evolve already explained, the whole board was built around a battery that delivers higher voltage than used by the coil(s). All it can do is bring this voltage down to the required voltage. If your source would be a single 3.7V cell the board can not boost this voltage so it's pretty useless.

If you get the one currently on Shapeways, there's a sled with it, just have to get the contacts.

The brand vapecige and model name vtbox200 are ugly words in my opinion and unless they end up like vaporshark or something I won't be proud to be seen with the brand name lol They have kindly covered their brand name all over it so you cant forget it lol

I really agree with this, its not my cup of tea either. However... I feel no remorse taking it apart and sanding/blast off the paint with the logos and tactfully repainting it to something else I like. With the coupon code, its $120 (I know why might not get that price... but even at $160), and I wouldnt feel too bad about making it my own.

I hope people buying this VTbox200 realise that they're buying a really bulky mod, even if it has a 1800mah lipo. The mod is TWICE the size of the HanaV200.

I've only seen photos with what looks like a small hand holding it. So I don't know how big it will actually in my hands... I've had bigger mods judging by the measurements that were posted... so <shrug> when I got my first 6" phone I thought it would never work out... yet I don't want anything smaller now.

Yeap sure, lots of people have no problem with big boxes. Just making sure that people aren't fooled about its size from the photos.

I think the opposite, actually. I think it looks bigger than it really is, in the photos of someone's small hands holding it.

I preordered one, just because I do like the style... however, I will be making it my own when I get it. (maybe after a day of using it first lol)

As for the Vapor Flask, I sure hope it has the full 200 power.

I can see it happening by manipulating the individual cells to fit. Remember, lipos can be un-wrapped and rewired. If anyone has seen the way Apple arranges the batteries in the new MacBooks, this is what I'm referring to.

I sure hope they figure out how to cram the cells in there as I for one would love a VaporFlask 200.

Seriously though how are people making these screens I want to try

I use Gimp on my mac and make an image sized per the docs...what is that size you ask? Don't know...not at home, but it is an easy search on the evolv website in the escribe tutorial.

Because they're voiding warranties because they were bought under MSRP which is punishing the consumer.

Language that implies a good liberal arts education...ah...the world is safe. That and the fact that I agree...but hey, Apple pulls it off.
Not quite :p. Apple pulls it off because they provide superior warranty service. This coming from someone that absolutely hates Apple products and will never buy anything from them again.

I think they will have a single cell firmware also. And that is something I would be interested in.

Pardon?
I've been buying, maintaining and servicing hundreds of Apple computers for the companies I've been working for over the past 25 years and I've seen many companies providing better warranty service. They're a pain in the .... to deal with.

Nope, impossible. See my post earlier on this page.
