I really agree with this, its not my cup of tea either. However... I feel no remorse taking it apart and sanding/blast off the paint with the logos and tactfully repainting it to something else I like. With the coupon code, its $120 (I know why might not get that price... but even at $160), and I wouldnt feel too bad about making it my own.

I've only seen photos with what looks like a small hand holding it. So I don't know how big it will actually in my hands... I've had bigger mods judging by the measurements that were posted... so <shrug> when I got my first 6" phone I thought it would never work out... yet I don't want anything smaller now.

I think the opposite, actually. I think it looks bigger than it really is, in the photos of someone's small hands holding it.

I preordered one, just because I do like the style... however, I will be making it my own when I get it. (maybe after a day of using it first lol)
From my calculations the VT200 is slightly taller than a 1550p and slightly thicker. Its pretty damn small for the size of the cell, your right it looks bigger than it really is.

I think they will have a single cell firmware also. And that is something I would be interested in.
As yo han said above, this will not happen with the current hardware. It only bucks, not boosts. It only reduces input voltages. Some of the chips require 5v input. They can't get it from a 4.2v battery without boost circuitry. Two cells is the lowest this chip can go. No hoping will change the simple engineering problem of insufficient voltage. This is not something that can be changed with code or a simple resistor change on the board. It would require a completely re-engineered board to use single cells.

Ahh ok I missed that part thank you for the info. They need a board that will be in that 60-75 watt range also I think, just as Yihi has done. 40 is not enough but you get in the 60w area and its more appealing.

This may have been posted elsewhere, if so my apologies. I received an email from Protovapor that their XPV DNA-200 is now for sale: XPV DNA-200D | Protovapor.com

Apparently it is using the Fullymax 900mAh like the Beta enclosure. For using an enclosure anyone can get from everyone's favorite China marketplace, it's not bad. I see that they've ditched the adjustment wheel from the XPV40D however...which is to be expected I suppose.

I like it, just wish it was a few bucks less ;)

The most people I saw complain were DIY box people. the other people were just scared of the lipo batteries.

And lets be honest now. DNA devices are a small % of the market. we who spend hundreds and thousands of dollars are definitely NOT the norm.

I just don't know how they could market it. call it a DNA 200 mod but then you have to mention that its only 133 watts. makes your product look inferior. you can yell about it only using dual batteries but then people will look at the snow wolf and the IPV3 LI that use 200 watts with dual batteries and that then again makes their product look weak.

plus I get the feeling that vaporflask is done using DNA boards.
I'm one of those who's waiting for a 2x 18650 mod. I'm very tempted by the Hcigar, but I really want user replaceable batteries. It's not about a fear of Lipos, just that I don't want to run out of power midstream. Example; I'm sitting outside with my Evic VT right now. The weather's great so I'll be out as long as possible, just heading in for half an hour or so to grab something to eat before I head out for the night. The battery in the Evic is great, but it won't last 16 or so hours with my vaping habits. Thus I need to grab one of my 18650 mods and a bunch of spare batteries for later.

I am just checking with the cloudmaker whiteout guys if you could downgrad the Firmware to the 130W and use dual 18650 AND the LiPo version. You could do this with a different battery sled with this mod. That would be great :)
you don't need to downgrade anything.

pretty sure the intended result is that it just becomes a selectable option I think.

I'm not picking on you in particular, I meant to say this the other day but the conversation moved away from this...

If your that worries about your battery life get a power bank. I have a 50,000 mah one I take everywhere. 1 1a USB & 1 2.5usb. That should see me through a good while being away from any other USB power source. Bear in mind this chip uses the same USB port as all android phones so you can charge it in all the same places. Besides power banks are probably just as cheap as 4 18650s for a decent one. Food for thought friends

Didn't take it as directed to me in any way so no worries :)

I have a powerbank that takes 18650s. Very handy, and necessary as I was stupid enough to buy a phone with a built in battery. However, it's not very practical to keep a mod (or the phone) tethered to it when out and about. Micro usb connectors can be fragile, and that's a serious issue when the usb port is the only way to charge and update a device. It's OK with something long like the Evic which is cheap, will never be my primary device, and was bought mainly for the looks. I'm sure built in Lipos are great for most, and I can see the benefits (the battery life of the Evic's 5000 mAh lipo is far superior to that of two 2500 mAh 18650s), but it's just not for me. Ideally I'd want tiny, Cloupor Mini-sized one 18650 60-70w DNA200, but that's not possible.

Volcano just announced their new Lavabox DNA 200 on their website. I find it curious that they still say it only goes up to 9volts and same temp range as the Lavatube 3 DNA 40 device.

The DNA200 datasheet confirms a max output voltage of 9V and a max temp of 600°F.

Downgrade! :( and please don't talk about the cloud maker its been 5 weeks since preordering by the time I get mine the DNA will be so old skool hahaha

US a side it's hard to believe DNA200 have been so slow to be released but then given evolv's recent DNA history maybe modders were holding out for a green light.
