Alright guys. Everything works.
Buuuuuuuut I must have damaged the screen cause its not turning on.
I can take a hit from it no problems.
Even the reo switch to tuen it off and on works.
This sucks. Specially since I removed the button.

On friday going to order a new chip and the buttons.
Also going to cut on down some of the button cause I'm postive shoving it in damaged the cable of the dna screen.

Yeah, cuz there are better ways to flush fifty down the drain, like buying one of the many chinese clones----
stripped threads in atty connectors after 2 months, buttons caving in or losing contact, fill in the blank with a gazillion other issues....
and then I read posts where people say "I would like to get a REO but I just can't justify the "expense".
What does any of that have to do with me?

Nothing, is my read. Just a convenient hook to hang a pro-reo, anti-clone talk, a talk which I agree with. On with the work here!
Houseofvapors was out of stock so ordered from evol.

Had to move so set back the project.
Waiting on the switches still.
dna is wires and I had to use the plate spring for ground but working beautifully.
Wiring is top notch I had to take out the 20gauge stranded wire and used 22 gauge single core which has been giving a better signal.
Wires sticking out are for the buttons.

very cool. my advice is to seriously think about doing something to prevent moisture damage. a little juice is all it takes, seen it a few time now already.
the options I can think of is either coat it with clear silicone, or coat it with hot glue or coat it with liquid electrical tape. the dna display works awesome until the board gets a little damp from juice. another thing I'm considering for future dna20's is neverwet, it's a 2 part spray, like a clearcoat type thing, and it supposedly waterproofs well enough that you can submerge it fully while under power. guys have sprayed computer motherboards then installed them in fishtanks fully operating under water with this spray I think. it's ~$20 at home depot. technically the manufacturer doesn't recommend it for electronics but lots have used it anyway with amazing results from the little I've read about it.
mines already epoxied in place so I may have to use one of the other options, silicone or hotglue both sound like good options too, then there's the option of googling for a true conformal coating too which is probably the real pro way of doing it I guess, but some of the amateur solutions can work just as well. just some things to think about great job getting it going in there, really cool mod.

Fudge. I was playing around and a little juice leaked I assume and its not working.

dats da juice garbled display then no display. rinse it well with warm water and then let it dry completely. put in a bag of uncooked dry rice after rinsing to absorb all the moisture for a day or 2 can help too

after warm water rinse you can then rinse with distilled or more pure water too to make sure you leave no mineral deposits. I used poland spring water, all I had on hand. if you don't rinse it the juice will not go away completely just through evaporation alone I think
I left it in the sun after using alcohol and its working. Not like before. But that might be the battery.
