Do Analogs taste lousy after vaping for a while?

I vote for homeless before tossing. Why not let your good luck with ecigs give you good karma by helping somebody out? Just make sure they're of age ;)

LOL Exactly! Build up your good karma by ensuring the slow death of a fellow human being. :p Just Kidding. I know what you are meaning. I just see irony in strange places.

I was thinking the same thing right after I typed it before I hit send. Then I figured well, you wouldn't want to give them your PV while you smoked, they're probably going to get the cigarettes somewhere else anyway.....so...

I can tell you from my limited experience that analogs are gross. Far more so than I expected.

I got started on my e-cig only a little over a month ago. After a couple days, I had an analog, and didn't care for it. I went back to vaping. then a week or so later, my battery was dead so I decided to have another analog. It was even worse. It tasted like ash and burning, and the residual mouth-funk was off-putting.

Fast forward to last week. Once again, my battery was dead. I bummed an analog from a buddy who smoked the same brand I used to smoke. I made it through almost half of it before I snubbed it out. The mouth funk was even worse. I had to go brush my teeth just to clear it out.

Needless to say, I've now invested in an extra battery and a PCC, so I don't ever have to resort to an analog again. :)

Good for you for resisting - but trust me, you aren't missing much! ;)

yep yep, or get 2 fat batts and never worry again :)

Just when I stopped smoking cigarettes in general when i tried smoking them about 2 weeks later they were nasty. Ever since i started using electronic cigarettes i haven't even touched a cigarette but im sure they still taste pretty gross

2 weeks, 2 months, you can start back up, and while nasty at first, you get used to them again...add about 4-6 months onto that, you'll never get the taste for them back....at least i didn't....

LOL that's the quandary I'm facing. Being a sober alcoholic for 25 yrs would it be proper to allow another alkie to empty my liquor cabinet??? Of course not.
At first glance it seems, for my self, a no brainer decision BUT I volunteer for a non profit helping poor souls that are homeless, alcoholic and drug addicted. Weaning them off anologs is the least of our worries when they first ask for help so I think I'll hang on to them and when I see someone who is really trying to get their act together I will give them the tobacco.

Kinda OT I'm allowed to freely vape within the premises and Wed. one of our wealthy benefactors asked me: "are you the guy with this ecig thing". I gulped and answered "Yes". He smiled and said "I sure wish they had those devices around when I was trying to quit regardless of the legality. Keep up the good work".

As for batteries when I first ordered my Don I also ordered 2 extra large batts and 2 extra small batts- total of 4 large and 4 small each and when the first 2 die I'll order 2 more. Even though they last about 48 hrs each I'm not willing to take the chance.

Happy Vaping and thanks for the feedback, Vapoor.

I vividly remember the last cigarette I had. It was about a month after I started vaping and my battery went dead on a 45 minute drive back to work, I had one analog left from my last pack (Kool Milds) so I lit it up. Sweet Jesus was it terrible. Stale cigarettes never bothered me, but this was a whole new level, it tasted like straight chemicals, the throat hit was nonexistent by comparison (TH Junkie here), and the taste would NOT get out of my mouth for an hour or so after. Keep in mind that I have always, and to this very day loved the smell of a burning cigarette. Ever since I could remember I loved that smell, long before I even started smoking - but now I can't take the taste. Go figure.

Exactly the same as me. Last cig I tried out of curiosity was vile, but the most surprising thing was the utter and complete lack of TH. I mean, I didn't even feel it at all. And since I'm also a TH junkie, that was probably the final deal breaker for analogs.

Dislike the smell and have very little desire to taste the nasty smell, can smell cigarette smoke a mile off now. After being in the presence of a smoker for 10 minutes I can smell it on my clothes an hour later. Another big plus to vaping is being able to control the amount of nicotine I am putting into me. Started out in the 25-36mg range and am down to 8mg, and feeling good.

for those of you who have, what was your first thought after puffing on an analog again?

I can tell you how to get the experience without having to light up. It's easy.

Put about a half inch of cooking oil in an ashtray that hasn't been cleaned for a few weeks of constant use. Slurp it down. The slick film on my teeth, tongue and gums felt like oil, and the taste was like an old, dirty ashtray. Of course that won't get you the rest of the sensation - the vague ache in the lungs, the burning in your throat, and the monstrous dizzy spell after the first couple of puffs, but it'll give you the taste.

Cigarettes don't control you anymore. You simply don't know it yet. You have a nic delivery system that tastes better, is less harmful and socially far more acceptable. I didn't know about ECF. After vaping a week or two with no cigarettes I wondered what one would taste like. I had an unopened pack sitting there. I opened it and stepped out to the patio to my smoking table. I had thrown away my lighters so I rummaged and found a Bic candle lighter, lol. The first draw on the cigarette was so insanely vile that I had to try another. I checked to see if I had lit the wrong end. Surely I hadn't smoked something so disgusting for all those years? Another puff. Almost lost my lunch. I'm persistant. Gave it one more go and couldn't put it out fast enough. Another drag and I would surely have vomited. All that to say, you control the cigarettes. The love affair is over. If you're craving and wondering and have a puff, you'll be right back to vaping after a good toothbrushing, mouth and handwashing.

Unlike some here, I still enjoy walking past a smoker and smelling a waft of smoke. In closed quarters I don't think I'd enjoy it but it does make me long for a cig when I smell others smoking. Sometimes I get a crave, once a week or two weeks. I remember that foul taste and take a vape. I still have that pack of cigarettes with no intention of discarding them. If all my PVs break and I need nicotine I may have to smoke one while I get my gear in order. That won't ruin my quit or make me a 'smoker' again. We didn't quit smoking. We transitioned into vaping and are smoke and tobacco free.

Taking a curiosity puff off a cigarette is like a rite of passage around here. I thought I was unique until I found ECF. We're different but very similar in that aspect. You're in charge and YOU chose to vape. Cigarettes don't rule you anymore. Congrats on your transition.

Good post :)
I, just last night, threw away "that" pack of smokes after almost a year :)

Heh...not to worry. Believe me, I don't intend to find out.
I'm happy to report that today marks my 3rd full week without a single analog. (Since the very first day my e-cig came in the mail).
I still continue to be amazed this worked for me after smoking for many years and trying everything you could possibly imagine to quit, all to no avail. That is, until I found this thing that I can only describe as a miracle....my e-cig!

However, I just can't help but wonder at this point what an analog tastes like now. There is NO WAY I'm going to take the chance and try one, but I'm sure some of you have. Either because it was an emergency of some sort and your e-cig just wasn't available, or you gave up on them for a while, or whatever the reason.
On another note, it's unbelievable how that old habit of analogs stays with you mentally, even if you're very happy with your ecig. Especially times like in the morning with my first coffee, or after a big meal. I'm still automatically thinking for a breif moment: "Time to go outside for a smoke".
In the later years, I never smoked in the house. There could be a hurricane with torrential rain and 120MPH winds, but that couldn't stop me from running outside for a Cigarette.
But after that very brief moment of thinking I have to head outside like I did for so many years, it hits me: "Wait a minute, I don't smoke anymore!" So I take a few hits off of my e-cig, and all is well. :)

Still, there is this urge now, to see what an analog tastes like after 3 weeks of not having one. (I hope this will pass, and I'm sure it will). It's almost like I want to try one so I can re-enforce and confirm once and for all: Wow! This really tastes like crap, now I REALLY know I'll never go back to them!
Like I said, I absolutely refuse to take the chance, but for those of you who have, what was your first thought after puffing on an analog again?
Like me, I'm sure you'll hate to admit it if you have "relapsed", but I'm very curious to know what your experience was if you have.

Simple answer--Yep they taste like crap!No hit at all and can't compare in taste!

I hit my 30 day mark without one time of even wanting to smoke another one. Pretty amazed about that! Like another poster in this thread I did the RYO thing, my brand of tobacco was Criss Cross Menthol and I loved it, loved the flavor it had. Still have almost a full box of tubes and over half a bag of tobacco. I really didn't have much hope that ecigs would work, nothing else ever had. From day one I haven't wanted a cigarette. Sure, my mind played it's little games with me the first 3 weeks... always telling me it was time for a smoke. But that only lasted a second. I'm one of those that's really bothered by the smell now. I'm actually having a hard time being around a couple of my good friends now... not sure what's gonna happen there but the cigs stink and so do they. After 38 years of enjoying smoking, I can't fathom lighting another one and I'm so thankful for that!

Congrats to everyone... even if you just cut down! Good job :)
