NOTE to Livewell Nebraska: Comments make more
sense if they are displayed with the related article. None of the comments below concern the story I am viewing, "Do e-cigs help you quit smoking? Science is still hazy". COMMENT: The science is not as hazy as the reporter thinks. One survey of e-cigarette users had over 3,500 responses. Most (96%) said the e-cigarette helped them quit smoking or reduce their smoking (92%). It is estimated that over the past 3-4 years, more than 2 million smokers have switched to vapor. Surveys that asked about health effects show that over 90% of switchers state their health has improved. The FDA, ALA, ACS, AHA, CTFK, ANR and other organizations that supposedly care about the health of smokers ignore the growing body of scientific journal articles and claim that we don't know if they work and don't know if they are safe. I will guarantee you one thing: They DO work and, judging from the fact that I can now enjoy a hearty belly laugh without collapsing into an embarrassing coughing jag, they are MUCH safer than smoking cigarettes.
