I chain vape too. I can hit my PV every 30 seconds pretty easily and can go through 5-6 mil a day pretty easy. But I was a heavy smoker. 2 packs on a normal day and 3 packs on a heavy day.

I wouldn't worry about a nicotine OD. It's almost impossible to do without knowing you're doing it. The only real danger of nicotine is if you ingest a bunch all at once (suck as drinking e-liquid, etc). However, even that may not be enough -- there have been suicide attempts with e-liquid that failed.

The only concern I personally have is allergies. I am asthmatic and I notice sometimes if I chain vape, my chest feels "full" as if I can't breathe in all the way. I am certain something in the vapor is slightly irritating me, but I have no way of finding out what. It's nothing major and certainly not as bad as a full blown asthma attack, but still something that keeps me from vaping as much as I probably would.

Nothing in life is 100% safe, even medications the doctor prescribes. The way doctors look at "side-effects" is pretty simple: "Do the benefits of this treatment (along with possible side-effects) outweigh the harm of non-treatment?" If the answer is "yes" then treatment usually goes forward. In our case, I don't think many doctors can say that the benefits of vaping do not outweigh smoking analogs.

I have the same problem, with my asthma -- as a smoker, yeah, I had a lot of mucus and coughing-up to do, but my asthma was well-controlled. Now, there's very little mucus or coughing-up, but my asthma is completely out of control, I feel breathless probably half the time. That's why I've gone up and up on my nic, from 6mg, to now, 11mg plus WTA, so I can vape less, but still be satisfied -- I probably vape 2ml or less per day, but don't get cravings. But the asthma is still out of control. I have an appt tomorrow with my asthma doc, so I'm hoping he'll have some free samples of Symbicort; I always turned them down, as a smoker, because even using *only* a rescue inhaler and no other medicine, I really didn't have much problem with my asthma; now I do, so clearly I need some type of maintenance medication.

Hopefully over the long term, as my lungs heal from smoking damage, I can get back to good control.

I smoked like a chimney before, so naturally, I now vape quite a bit. I usually take a big hit every minute or so. My girlfriend insists that I'm doing it too often, but I haven't felt the nausea that normally comes with too much nicotine, like I used to when I chain smoked more than a few fags. Am I vaping too much? If not, at what point does it become too much? If so, how much should I slow down?

The things to look at are:
1: what mg (milligram) strength you are using
2: how many ml (milliliters) of liquid you use per day.

the mg x ml give you a total amount of nicotine which you can use as a guideline
so somebody who vapes 1 ml a day of 24mg, is using up the same amount of nicotine as somebody who vapes 4 ml a day of 6mg.

(my opinion/suspicion)
and another thing to look at is PG/VG ratio.
I think people vaping high vg ratio (like me) get more surface residue, like a film of stuff ending up on face - like on the nose - and presumably in the lungs I suspect

People who vape high PG ratio get dehydrated faster so need to keep hydrated.

Yeah, it's strange because there's been studies done on asthmatics and e-cigs and most of them report reduced symptoms after switching to vaping. I suspect it could be some flavorings.

I tried vaping straight vg last year, and noticed it produced a heavy chested feeling; kinda scary sometimes;
could be a vg effect you are feeling.

What PG/VG ratio do you vape?

I do, too; when I first started vaping, it was "Virginia", very plain and straightforward, and my asthma actually did improve considerably. Now though, I vape blueberry muffin/banana nut bread, and I have this problem. I don't like the virginia anymore, so I can't go back to that. My only recourse at this point is to DIY my own eliquid, so I know EXACTLY what's in it. I've been successful so far with the Banana Nut Bread constituent, it tastes great and I know it doesn't cause me any problems. But still working on the blueberry muffin part, so still vaping the "store bought" blueberry muffin; hopefully soon I can vape 100% DIY juice (other than the WTA) and the problem will ease.

too much pg makes me cough, like a dry hacking cough but also feeling like i got flem stuck in my throat and i have to cough to clear it, was thinking its still my analogues clearing out of my lungs, idk.
more vg that cough is almost completely gone, im diying my juice so im experimenting to see what ratio of pg/vg i need.
high vg makes some of my juices get really really dark aqnd gross looking in my atomizer due to the heat(im guessing) but im still trying out different things, problem is i keep forgetting to write down or save my formulas

My problem is exactly the opposite -- PG causes me no problems whatever until I vape 90% PG for a few days, then it irritates my throat and sinuses. VG, on the other hand, as little as > 25%, and I cannot breathe at all, can't draw a good breath, feel like there's a hairball in my chest; I cough and cough but it doesn't help at all, just makes me tired and irritates my throat.

So I stick to 85% PG for best results.

You should try vaping some plain PG, and see what happens;

Because
It may not be the PG that makes you cough, but the nicotine; the higher the PG/VG ratio the harder the nicotine hits; you might just have to use lower nicotine level with your higher PG ratio.

Find man cave.

Visit man cave daily. Be at one with man cave.

Vape as often or as much as desired in man cave.

Realize in man cave, you are supreme judge.

In man cave, you decide what is too much, or your body-mind will tell you if you really don't know.

Outside of man cave....?

Good luck! If you figure something out, please write a book and let us all know how you made it work.

good idea about the pg, i only vape about 8mg nic, i really have to right down my formulations to pin down the problem.
its not a big problem as others r having plus it still could be my lungs clearing up after 30yrs of smoking analogues

The most important part of the man cave is the entrance. It should be akin to the doors in Get Smart, virtually impenetrable to any one but you.

I have a vape nearby almost all day long. I might go through 4-6mL/day. I'd rather vape than smoke. My better half prefers that I don't smoke, so doesn't care if I'm vaping 24/7. I do need to sleep, so it's more like 17-18/7 :)

I was vaping pretty much constantly there for a while, but it's the dangedest thing... one morning I was having a particularly rough time with my asthma, so I hit my tank with a bit extra WTA, which raised the nic level to nearly 12mg, plus giving me more of all the other stuff in WTA, so that I wouldn't need to vape so much. And it really did help my asthma a lot, so now that's what I vape all the time, about 11.5mg with the WTA... and from 5-6ml, I'm down to barely 2ml a day. I don't feel any different, I vape whenever I feel like it... I just don't seem to need it every minute... it spends more time on the desk in front of me, than in my hand. So, it saves money, saves cartos, saves battery, and best of all... saves my lungs! :thumb:

I seem to always have a pv in my hand and vape almost all day.
Single coiled to keep it in perspective @ about 3-7ml a day
depending on if I use a tank or not.

I cannot believe how many people vape over 8ml's a day they must never ever put it down,
I gotta figure out how to do that.

You deodorize the house with vaping and the pg helps kill off bad viruses so it can be considered as a dual usefullness..
My vape area smells awesome some juices when I go outside and return
but some juices omg ewwwwwww wth it sure doesn't taste like it smells lol..
