Greta Thunberg became the globally recognized face of Climate Change protest. A few months later there aren't any cars on the roads anymore !, and there are no planes flying !. Governments were forced to listen to Greta Thunberg, but, were unable to proactively do anything about what she was saying in realtime.
If they could find a solution to climate change, even if it were only for a short while, they'd make a globally concerted effort to solve it.
How do you convince everyone in the world to stop driving their cars ?. Same goes for commercial airlines ?. What miracle could possibly be performed to stop commercial air travel worldwide !?. It couldn't happen !.
Meanwhile,
China, incidentally, one of the most polluted countries in the world, was the first country to declare they had an outbreak of a novel strain of Corona Virus. And in no time at all pretty much every country in the world were reporting cases of Corona Virus. Systematically, the entire world slowly started to grind to a halt.
Whilst all this was happening, the United Kingdom had just departed from a European Union it has been a part of for over 40 years. For three years leading up to this event the nation of Great Britain wasn't preparing for this departure. During that three years the British government was purely focused on how to wriggle out of "Brexit". One interesting point they made at this time was that the UK borders were not going to be able to cope with imports. A lot of what the British Nation buys from supermarkets on a daily basis wouldn't make it to the shelves in time. Another point they made during this time was that the NHS would suffer because basic supplies, which would ordinarily come from Europe, would be held up at the borders and therefore the NHS wouldn't be able to keep up with demand. As i understand it, based on what i'm consistently hearing from news media only, is that it is in fact the novel Corona Virus that is solely responsible for these problems.
vaping bans and regulations have been imposed pretty much everywhere in the world in recent years. vaping is a benign habit but the presence of nicotine is what has caused governments to act. vaping may not be considered environmentally friendly by Governments, but from a users point of view is preferable to tobacco smoke to those in their immediate environment. The Corona Virus on the other hand isn't in any way environmentally friendly !. But it's presence has reduced the entire worlds carbon footprint by an immeasurable amount in a very short time.
So the question is: "if you as a vaper think vaping is much safer than smoking, is fundamentally better for your health and the health of those in your immediate environment (which includes you and your friends and family), then do you think that the global response to the Corona Virus has incidentally become an event which is now preventing climate change, an environmental issue !. (for as long as the lockdown lasts anyway) ?.
So what do you think ?.
