There are cues lining up outside some of our supermarkets hundreds of metre's long. No one is allowed out unless they have a absolute need to do so. Only twenty people at a time allowed in one supermarket.
Just because it's happening there doesn't mean it's like that all over the world. I feel sorry for the people where your at having to walk everywhere they go.

Tbh i think it's a cool hypothesis, but nothing more. And no i don't necessarely think vaping is more environment friendly mostly because i can't count the number of juul pods and such i've seen laying around ever since that crap started.

Those pods are probably worst than ciggs were so i doubt that has anything to do with it.
I do believe someday we'll get a "population control" from our governments, but who knows when and even if.

The irony that this killer virus is reducing pollution. That was the point of my original post. Maybe no one has noticed the irony nor that that is what i was referring to. I'd prefer not to explain it and let readers realise it for themselves. It's kind of like having to explain a joke to someone who didn't get it. The moment is then lost. Nevermind though. I suppose that's why this thread derailed instantly.
Wrong again. It's doing nothing to help. You won't explain it because you can't. FACTS are what you don't have. Your full of bovine feces.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You think the lines are bad now, wait until they start positioning testing trailers outside of all essential public places, like supermarkets and such. You won't be able to enter without first getting tested and if the test shows positive...off to COVID-19 camp you go...no visitors, no accompaniment. They say these camps have arts and crafts and all sorts of fun things as well as caring medical staff on hand...but I have my doubts about it.

We will never see "population control" in the US. I doubt you'll ever see it where you're at either. There are some countries, according to statistics, that already have self imposed " population control ".

It's the immediate environment i was talking about. Government bans and regs based on how vaping isn't environmentally friendly within your "immediate environment". So my question was about that. Vaping is benign....right ? but still regulated or banned. Corona virus isn't benign but has ironically reduced pollution worldwide. Both are environmental issues, which governments are concerned with, whether immediate or otherwise.

Neither statement is true. So are you a lying troll on purpose or are you just that ignorant of reality?

@evan le'garde , now that you have calmed down a bit... I think it was just the way you worded the thread. It happens. I started a thread on the DIY forum (with good intentions) and made the mistake of the title "Best Flavors"... got a lot of crap for that. Looking back, I could have made a better title. Don't be so defensive... stand your ground and please don't stoop to responses like "SHUT IT!" You brought up several issues... the original one about vaping and the environment was a reasonable question. Bringing "climate change" into it was asking for a heated debate. At least you didn't get into politics... that ruins a thread for sure. Do you really expect me to prove that we drove to the store and there were plenty of cars on the road? And yes, if I had the time to waste, I would offer proof of my statement about the planets warming. I do my homework!

@Skunk! , haven't read that yet but glad you posted a good response. That's what I was wondering... it's usually the manufacturing that creates the most issues (but I would think that also goes for vape gear) Basically, everything is bad for the environment. It's called modern life.
Cigarettes themselves create very little (and the butts are cellulose... not a bid deal) but I suppose all those plastic lighters are an issue (and the burning of butane if you want to get really into it) Vaping (besides the obvious wasted plastic pods and coils) has the battery issue. To a very small degree they also require charging... electricity that has to be generated. On so on...

The big difference is that cigarettes are very disposable. They use a lot of wood in curing and paper in packaging. I mostly use mechanical mods some of which I have had for 5+ years. I also use rebuildable attys so there is very little waste after the original manufacture. A couple inches of cotton coil every couple days, and a new wire every few months.

Hey people... I'm not taking sides here, and we don't need to call each other trolls. Can we keep this civil? This current situation is getting to all of us... like the phrase "divided we fall" Maybe that's what this is all really about?
Yeah, it's getting to us - mostly. I notice people in supermarkets and such are much more friendly and considerate. I wish I could say the same about drivers - especially in parking lots.

I'm not a big believer in man-made climate change. I do want to point out, though, the biggest source of pollution isn't cars and planes, especially in the US, with all of its emissions regulations. The biggest source is China and its factories which are back up and running again. This pandemic is a big deal because of our ability for global travel and our 24/7 news. The world has seen worse in the past. This will be over in a few months for the northern hemisphere. It's just starting for the southern hemisphere. Soon, there will be treatments, followed by a vaccine. So this isn't some great apocalypse or the end of the world. The virus wasn't created in some lab, scientists know. There will be other viruses, like there was SARS and MERS, but hopefully it will be handled better than the Chinese handled this one.
