The first few days after I got my e-cig most of the time I was either holding it or it was right next to my keyboard as I've been working. Only occasionally was I reaching for an analog. However I've noticed the past couple of days, I'm still using it more because I like it but more I'm finding that I'm craving analogs and going back to smoking more and vaping less.

Anyone else experience this? Could it be that I'm not getting enough nicotine?

Not unusual, I started at 24mg, what are you using? Chain Vaping, to start seems to help. I tried to treat these as regular analogs, doesn't really work that way. The nic 'hit' is delivered in a different way.

I vape a LOT more than I 'smoked' (3 PAD), it's an adjustment thing. HTH

the first try for me a couple months ago , i had no craving what so ever . i was so happy to not smell like ash , i didnt even consider smoking the last cig in the pack i carried for a week.

this time , i find that i am craving analogs first thing in the morning , and after i eat. i also crave analog when im doing some throne reading , but i think iused it more for a timer , than a cig...

if i feel the craving , i have found that i grab an analog , light it , hit it once or twice , and im tossing the damn thing away. this pretty much tastes like poo_ and makes me want my ecig even more.

good luck , and take it from someone who was addicted to something far harder to quit than smokes , a trip up here and there isnt that big of a deal , just keep your goals in mind , and stick with it. like they say , you werent really a "smoker" your first cig , prolly not even your first pack. take the time to practice your ecig , and once you get there , youll see that a slip up isnt the end of the world.

It's interesting because I am using 25mg and 26mg juice now. When I first started I used prefilled carts that were only 15mg. Could it be that I'm not using enough juice? When I drip it I add enough that there is actually a pool of liquid visible on top of the filler, and I do the paperclip thing to try to get it all soaked in well. Although it seems that it only takes four or five drops at most.

i had a time trying to get stock carts to take fluid. i slide a pin down the coner of my 901 cart , and that gets a lot of it down. some people cut a little off the tip and thn put it back in , it gives the filer filler smoewhereto wick to.

i hve been using the pyramid tea bag filler this week and its nice , but i have my doubts about heating up the tea bag nylon meshy stuff...

will be looking into the pipe screen mod next , this is what i was thinking od , only to come on here and find out someone has already done it. no more burnt fibers unless its the atty ,but i have a few theories on that too... more to come when i hit 15 pots...

I have only had my e-cig for a couple of weeks and am still smoking analogues as well, am not one of those lucky people who after their first taste of an e-cig, gave up analogues for good!

I've tried running out of tobacco and seeing how long I can go with just my e-cig, usually 1-2 days, not amazing but better than nothing.

At the moment I have some tobacco but am not smoking it nearly as much as usual and have even managed to have a vape with my morning coffee several days in a row without any fuss, it's just as good and doesn't leave me feeling tired out like a roll up would.

The taste of roll ups is becoming more and more unpleasant , especially since I got some lovely menthol e-liquid.

I would say, like hova, yeah, don't worry about the occasional analogue and just give yourself a chance to get used to the e-cig and try some exotic flavour, I want to get some strawberry when I can afford it, cos I think that the more I get used to different flavours, the more I shall hopefully go off the ordinary 'tobacco' !!

For the first 2 weeks I had my 510, I smoked and vaped at the same time. Everytime I would go out to smoke, I took my 510 and used it also. I noticed that during those 2 weeks, I started to let the cigarette burn and vaped instead. Finally I just stopped smoking.

Also, I discovered I needed 24mg/ml in the morning and 18mg/ml the rest of the day to keep me from wanting a cigarette.

Adjusting to vaping can take time and it varies for each person. Please do not become discouraged...you will find what works for you.

On July 4th, I'll hit my 3-month mark of being totally smoke-free. It took me only about a week to quit, but yes, I did get severe cravings when I got depression from withdrawal. When the dep. lifted, I still got cravings for a while until I found my absolute two favorite eJuices -- wild cherry and bubblegum. Now I find myself craving those. And I'm not sure that's such a good thing, as I don't want to vape forever. My goal is to draw nothing but oxygen into my lungs one of these days.

i hear ya , when i first vaped , i went with the vanilla cartos from v4l , and i believe i got some newport juice , which did the trick but may have been stale , as it was sour smoke.

i also bought a bunch of flavors , thinking that i would like to try some different things , and they were pretty nasty. im thinking that it may have been a combination of the nasty liquid , and dryish carts burning and making what little flavor was there , not.

then i had a revelation. buy the best. Halo . i bought a bottle of newpure back then , and it was potent , flavorful , and lovely. when that ran out , i was off work for two unpaid weeks , and didnt have the cash or the will to buy more carts batts and liquid.

this time i picked up a 901 atty , some carts , and the new "newpure" (its not called that anymore) , and its lovely. im still using the old atty, one died yesterday doing the lemon/vinegar soak to get rid of the burnt taste , probably shorted it out. Im thinking a couple new atty's cleaned and re-primed should do the trick.

whatever you do , dont get discouraged if you get some nasty flavors. i thought that the things ppl do on here were unnecessary , but some of them make a HUUUUUUUUGE difference. its all in what works for you. even if all you want to do is toss a new cart on and vape and toss it , they make that. if you want to drip some extensively modded gear , thats here too. just decide whats right for your budget (time as well as money)

. I still got cravings for a while until I found my absolute two favorite eJuices .

Seabrook - That is what did it for me too. I found a tobacco flavor that was so much better tasting. It made all the difference. For me I guess, if the nic is there the flavor means more than anything. I could not imagine going back to the Cowboys even though I smoked them for years.

The tobacco replacement flavor that did it for me is - Tennessee Cured from Johnson Creek

I'm not sure how common this is, but I've been analog free for about a month now. However, just for grins, I bummed an analog from a friend of mine just to see if I was missing anything.

I lit up, and.....ew. You almost forget about it when you're a smoker, but those analogs really do smell and taste like burned bum-hair. On top of that, it didn't give me near the nicotine I felt I needed. (I vape 24mg) Two puffs into the analog, I found myself wanting to put it out and grab my 510. So, I can safely say I should never have a craving ever again.

Officially smoke-free, officially vaping for life!:toast:

My brain occasionally tells me I want a cig - so I light one, and out it goes in 2 puffs. Literally now it makes me nauseous - its not the taste, thats just blah and a bit yuk, but not foul, and the nic hit is ok, (my lungs dont seize up or anything) though I dont care for the smell and my hands stink, its just too much nic at once I think. I really feel like im going to pass out or throw up. I crave my 510 a lot more now - I've found I'm ghost- tasting a 'certain flavor' so thats the one i go vape (it varies as to which flavor btw).
I also didnt quit right off the bat - I think it took around 10 days before my desire to smoke really left me.

I found some really good advise on ECF when I was first trying to quit. Vape until you feel a little sick from a bit too much nicotine. At that point an analog is the last thing that you will want. Needless to say this takes care of a craving. As far as getting good juice, I agree this really helps. I was never a regular menthol smoker in my 33 years of smoking, but when first quitting, menthol helped me greatly. It reminded me of smoking a regular menthol cigarette. I still enjoy menthol eliquid, especially in the morning with that first cup of coffee.
Lastly either a high voltage mod or a LR atomizer will produce great clouds of vapor. Something about this also helps greatly with the analog cravings.

at first, but getting a 5v passthrough and 24mg VG based liquid will quickly bring an end to the cravings. a couple of 9 watt pulls on 24mg will make real cigs look like something only indians used to do. Now i need to work my nic level down to keep my heart rate from freaking out. I plan to cut my stuff with pure VG to get it down to 8-9 mg so i can increase frequency.

also, why i can't say it's reasonable medically to ever recommend something like this, the "overdose" method does work, and i think we all have stumbled upon that in the first week or two by accident. When you are not so sure how much to use, you tend to keep pulling and pulling to try to simulate a reallie, then you realize you feel like you just chain smoked 10 cigs, and feel nauseous and won't want anything to do with nicotine for the next 90 minutes. thats when you can begin to disassociate nicotine dosing from lighting a real cig, and when your mind starts to figure that out, you really do switch over. It takes time but it does work. i smoked marb rebs for 24 years, and never plan to go back.
