Hey all

I think everyone here started using e cigs to ween youself off cigs, my question however is how many people see vaping as the final stop? How many people intend to try and quit vaping?

I am still on the fence with this one, but ultimately I do think at somepoint I would want to get off all products.

So what do you think?

In a word, Noooooo...

I needed an alternative to cigarettes because I had to move into a situation in which I could not smoke inside. I was practically a chain smoker, and just visiting anywhere I couldn't smoke was a source of anxiety for me. I could not live like that. That was my motivation. But boy, have I been loving all the other benefits! Lol. I feel too dependent on the whole thing for whatever reason- not sure how large a part nicotine plays, but I know the hand to mouth thing and all the little rituals around it is a huge part. I really see no reason to quit vaping.

I started vaping so I wouldn't smell like cigarettes. I happened to be looking for a job at the time. I was just hoping it would be enough to keep me from smoking between washing my hair and job interviews.

Lo and behold, I just never lit that next cigarette! I kept the carton for a few weeks, just in case. But, eventually gave it away.

Even after 5 1/2 years, the memory of what it's like to not be able to smoke for an extended period is still fresh in my mind. The panic, the feeling I can't breath. Once that memory has faded, if it ever does, then I might think about quitting vaping. Maybe.

Why is it that not being able to smoke was like being underwater and holding my breath? It's funny since cigarettes are so bad for breathing.

As long as I don't smoke, I'm happy. Besides, what would I do with my lifetime stash of vape supplies?

They will have to pull my mod from my cold dead hand!
I once told a busy body that said "I'm sure you're old enough to know smoking is bad for you". My response was, I can't quit, this is my insurance that I won't outlive my money.
That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

A classic response to extreme anxiety. :)

I don't have any plans to stop vaping. If I ever decide to quit I don't think it will be as hard as quitting smoking. There are times when I get up in the morning and don't even think about vaping for awhile. I never forgot about having my morning cigarette that way.

I never thought I would or could quit smoking. I rolled my cigs and even though I sort of enjoyed smoking I knew it was doing me harm. The harms were compounding over time and the effects were becoming far too noticeable to ignore.

Vaping on the other hand fills a very real void quitting smoking would have left, over time my health has actually improved, my taste is gradually coming back and I enjoy my vape as much or more than I enjoy my morning coffee. I would never consider giving up my morning coffee or having a decaf instead.

Smoking used to be a "guilty pleasure", now vaping freely without harm and reaping the benefits nicotine on it's own offer, it is simply a "pleasure" no harm no foul. It helps keep me happy and content.

Quitting!!!??? Not even on the radar at this point.
Guilt free pleasure is rare, hold on tight. Cheers.

Been vaping for years. Got down to 0 mg nicotine 9 months ago. Have no intention to stop vaping.

There's been suggestions that nicotine may help keep Alzheimer's at bay. I've got family history of that so I'll grab onto anything that might improve my chances. I enjoy vaping.

And I'm still worried that if I stopped I would be at risk of backsliding to the cigs. When stress hits I've got a lifetime habit of reaching for a cig, and more recently a vape. But cigs for much longer. And if I was out somewhere it would be too easy to buy a pack at a gas station. I have no idea how likely that would be if I had stopped vaping.

Right now I'm simplifying my vaping a bit. Getting stuff packed away so there's less vaping clutter on my computer desk. Only a few batteries and tanks in use. Settling on a handful of juices to use regularly. Not buying new stuff makes that easier. It's getting to just be something I do rather than a major hobby.

Don't see any scenario where I will quit.

I never started vaping to get off cigs, after 37 years of smoking i just bought an ecig.I went into a smoke shop to buy my tobacco and there was a guy vaping. After talking to him out of curiosity walked out with a Nautilus and no tobacco. In 37 years i never even thought of quitting but since that day 7 months ago i have not even thought of smoking, weird!I have no plans at all to quit vaping but i had no plans to quit smoking either!
