For me it keeps me from smoking or dipping. Neither habits are attractive or healthy.

Though I've been vaping for two and a half years I still haven't gotten into the rebuilds or DIY joose. 2 things I want to explore. Even with the equipment I have, it's a hobby and lots of fun experimenting.

In the future I may quit, but for now I'm entrenched and happy in the vape world.

vaping has kept me smoke free for nearly 3 years after 40 years of smoking. I was convinced I would die with a cigarette in my fingers, but I've been freed from that. I enjoy my much healthier lifestyle and have no immediate plans to quit. I won't say never, but not on the agenda right now.

Nope! I love the hobby and the DIY aspect of it! It awesome and satisfying! I love the flavors and I love the nicotine. I started 3 years ago Tootle Puffing 18mg with the notion of stepping down the nic as time went by. I'm currently Tootle Puffing 12mg (10mg when I DIY) and have no inclination of going any further. I'm happy where I'm at!

Given that I just stocked up about 15 years worth of nic in preparation for the new regulations, there's no way I'm letting that go to waste.
Thats about Twice as long as i am prepped for.

I have a messed up left hand, and my eyesight is going to HELL in a handbasket.

Yes,I started vaping to get rid of my nicotine addiction,I was gonna drop my nic levels down to zero over time (started at 24mg & I'm down to 6mg. now). Then I'd give up the vape.

BUT.... seeing as I still break down and have a ciggie every once in a blue moon I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak.Soooooo....I'm still working at it and it'll be a long journey. :)

Happy Vapes All !

I enjoyed smoking, so vaping for me is an alternative. Probably won't be giving it up in the foreseeable future.

What Bonskibon said... except I really REALLY enjoyed smoking. I have no desire to stop vaping and don't intend to. I have no other vices anymore (gave everything up that could be considered a "vice") and vaping is all I've got. I'm sure some people see it as a vice, but I don't.

Nope, not on the horizon at this time.

I made my switch with 24 mg/ml, stepped it down a few months later to 18, where I still vape.

Like many, I enjoyed smoking - the process, the benefits of nic. But not the other effects of inhaling smoke.

Started my prepping a few years back, and at my current levels, probably have enough nic on ice for 20 years. Lots of rebuildable tanks and external battery mods. FuDa can go..... fish.

And since the Patch, there's actually been real research on the effects of nic. (Hard to do when it's combined with combustion products!) It's not nearly the demon we've been led to believe and, as mentioned, has some real benefits for some ailments. And about as "addictive" as coffee. (And it seems that it's also about as harmful.) Like many, when I was a smoker, the thought of not being able to smoke for an extended period was daunting and disturbing. As a vaper, I can face those times without blinking.

Who knows. Four years ago I bought my first kit on a whim...just thought it would help me cut back. Three days later I had my last cigarette. I believe I may get down to 0mg (I'm at 3mg now), but giving up vaping will have to just happen. I do find that I can go longer without if I need to.

NO. Vaping WORKS for me. There are certain brains that are drawn to stimulants like coffee and nicotine and need a hand-to-mouth stimulus - whether that's smoking or food or whatever else. We all self-medicate in different ways.

I do not have ADD, but the people I know who have been dx are very much dependent on stimulants to provide focus ... it would be interesting to know if there was a higher than average population of ADD folk here on the boards ...

No, I can't imagine not vaping or even not continuously vaping - thus, my stockpile. Then again, I never thought it would be possible for me to quit smoking. My goal is to get down to 6mg/nic over the next few months with the ultimate goal of 3mg. Beyond that, and barring any serious risk to my health, I'm perfectly content to keep vaping .....

How many people intend to try and quit vaping?

I do. Shortly before my pulse hits zero for the last time. I say last time because I am fascinated by (but not good with) all things electrical and have managed to stop my heart several times. I don't see that changing.

I loved to smoke. Smoked 1 ppd for over 30 years. As much as I loved it, it was getting harder and harder to smoke in public. It was getting more and more expensive. I hated how it was affecting my health -- coughing up a lung every morning, bouts of bronchitis a couple of times a year, shortness of breath after climbing a flight of stairs. Not to mention how bad my apartment, car, and I stunk of ashtray and butts.

For 10 years I tried to quit. I was unsuccessful with the nicotine gum & patches, prescription drugs, and hypnosis. Then I tried an ecigarette, and was able to quit smoking permanently after only a week's dual use. No tobacco for five years now.

I see vaping as a healthier alternative to smoking tobacco. I've dropped my nicotine usage from 18mg down to 3mg. My health has improved. No more morning cough, no more bouts with bronchitis, no more shortness of breath, no more tobacco stench. No more wasting money on tobacco products -- I've saved nearly $10,000 by not buying cigarettes. Weather permitting, I now ride my bicycle 6 miles a day.

Although I may have conquered my physical addiction to nicotine via vaping, I'm still addicted to the behavior of smoking/vaping. I still have the need to inhale/exhale either smoke or vapor. I still have that hand-to-mouth addiction.

Even with the FDA's intention to keep me from vaping, I have prepared myself to be able to continue to vape. Even if it is with only nicotine-free unflavored straight Vegetable Glycerin. I'll NEVER return to smoking tobacco.

So in so many words, no, I don't see myself ever not vaping. I love to vape. It's one of my last remaining vices at age 62. But the way I see it its a healthier vice.
