When I quit smoking (a couple of years ago) I found I would still crave the whole experience of smoking - the stepping away from whatever it was I was doing to go out for a smoke, chatting with the other smokers, etc - so I would still do all those things even though I wasn't smoking .

After a couple week relapse a few months ago, I tried vaping and haven't had an overbearing urge to smoke an analog, but. I still think about it occasionally. So, I still make myself walk outside and take a vape break (even though I can vape at my desk- and do a little). I still talk to the smokers and haven't had an analog since the beginning of August :)

I occasionally will grab a cigarette from a friend if they have one, and I'm out and about. Vaping has replaced smoking for me 100%, but there's just no true replacement for a Marlboro Gold. Vaping replaces the nicotine, but I love the flavor and sensation that only a real cigarette gives... that said, my lungs are much happier. I used to be a 2 pack a day smoker, stunk like an ashtray... vaping is so much better in the sense that I get my nicotine delivered reliably and consistently without the same deleterious health effects that the cigarettes gave me.

It still amazes me everyday that a tiny puff of vapor keeps me from ever wanting to go back to smoking. I still can hardly believe it. I never have the urge to smoke even when I am with someone who does. That doesn't mean sometimes I go into "hypervape" mode because of something. I get just as much, if not more, comfort from vaping that I did smoking. If you have to have a crutch, it might as well taste good.:vapor:

I know what you mean! I was thinking about it last night while I was vaping some GeJ apple pie. Instead of that panicky craving I used to get if I hadn't had a cigarette in a few minutes has been replaced with I REALLY WANT some apple pie or bobas bounty right now! I need flavor! :)

Some quit immediately while others cut down slowly on their analogs- no rush and it's not a contest. Stress free journey are the keywords. One day you'll wake up and either forget to smoke an analog or prefer to vape.
Best of Luck and congrats

Yes, I relate to this. I had the urge to have a smoke sometime during my first month. I rewarded myself and found it disgusting. One puff, never again. And no urge whatsoever in many months. I do like to vape, though, and get the urge to do that pretty much continuously. I may be addicted...

I dont get the urge anymore. I was a 37 year 2.5 packer........changed over night.... Never looked back.

Same here! Fortunately I was only a 2 year smoker so maybe i wasn't as addicted as OP but from the day I got my EGO i never touched a cig anymore... Try to resist the urge, give yourself some time to get used to your new habit (vaping) and you'll be fine I think

I actually do not which is a huge surprise. I kept reaching for my lighter the first couple of weeks but that has now gone too. About a week or two ago i had a "drive by" urge that lasted a few seconds. I consider myself one of the lucky ones and i was a heavy tobacco user. Now i cant stand the smell except some of the aromatic pipe tobaccos.

I made a promise to myself many years ago, if i ever make it past a month i will never smoke again. Thanks to vaping, i find it MUCH easier to keep this promise i made to myself. I took 2 drags off of a smoke twice since quitting just to see what would happen.

YUCK!!!!
Vaping 65 days /Smoking 0 and i plan to keep it that way!!!!!! I wish you all the best in whatever method works for you.

I smoked 1-1.5 packs of Marlboro Lights for over 30 years. When I started almost two months ago, I had seven cigarettes left in my pack. It took an entire week for me to smoke the last seven cigarettes! Haven't touched an analog since September 1st.

I've noticed that when I am under too much stress, I still get the urge to light up. However, the urge has gone from several times a day to once or twice a week. I've amassed a stockpile of batteries, way too many bottles of premium juice at all different levels of nicotine, cartomizers/clearomizers, chargers, etc. I still find myself worrying that I'll run out of something and have to smoke a cig! I'm fortunate to be able to vape at work--I tend to chain vape 6-12 mg when the craving for an analog hits with a few hits of my higher nic juices, as needed.

When the urge hits, I also remind myself that my seemingly permanent cough has disappeared, I don't feel like I have wool in my lungs anymore, I don't smell like an ashtray, my teeth are whiter, and I have a great (but expensive) new hobby. Much more interesting than a lighter and a pack of cigs!

After my first week of vaping and 'accidentally' not smoking any analogs because I was too busy testing my new e-vic and the favours I forgot to vape and was arriving at a customers door for some 2 hours work. I thought let's smoke a siggy instead so I don't have to lug the e-vic along with me. As soon as I lighted up the siggy I disliked the taste, but since I just opened a new pack of my former favorite siggies I thought I had to smoke it anyway but I had to put it out before it got halfway.. the taste was just that horrible.. that was my last siggy..

I still need to roll a joint with tobacco though :(

Guess I was one of the lucky ones. I had just gotten out of the hospital, where I spent 4 days trying to get my newly diagnosed Diabetes under control (what a shock that was!). My doctor said you HAVE to quit, due to circulation issues in my feet and legs. Apparently analogs are horrible for inhibiting normal circulation and with diabetics it is not uncommon for them to have amputations of the feet and/or legs for this reason. Needless to say, that got my undivided attention, LOL. My wife took me to a Vape store and I got hooked up with a VAMO VVW V2. I threw my Marlboro Reds analog pack in the trash that day (4 weeks ago) and have not looked back. And I can honestly say I don't miss them a bit. And I had been a 40 year, 2 pack a day smoker. Thank God I made the switch. I feel SO much better already. Lung capacity is getting better, no more chest hurting in the morning, no more gasping when going up 2 flights of stairs. Funny thing too, earlier this week I sat next to a guy that is a chain smoker of analogs. He smelled SO bad to me that I truly thought I would be nauseous. No lie, I couldn't believe how bad he reeked of cigarettes. And that is what I used to smell like, I'm sure. Just reinforced my decision to NEVER go back!
