Do you think E-Cigs will be banned in the US?

What will the US government do to E-Cigs by 2012?

  • Ban E-cigs

  • Regulate E-Cigs

  • Nothing

It doesn't make any sense. The government gets alot of money from interest groups and tobacco companies. And I'm pretty sure tobacco companies do not want you to know about E-Cigs. Also pharmaceutical companies that create smoking cessation drugs like Chantix would feel the heat also. I'm sure the government won't let that happen. The money is more important than the health of millions of people.

Honest question: How can a state ban a battery, an atomizer, PG, and nicotine?

Edit: and not ban cigarettes.

Anything not specific to the constitution is under the authority of the states. There are still dry counties were prohibition is the law.

For instance, in Michigan you can't buy booze on Sundays or Christmas or Easter. If the Feds tried that again it would get booted, but states can pull it off.

Of course we still have prohibition on other stuff at the Federal level so anything could happen.

Why can't they ban nicotine completely? Seems like cigarettes will be pretty much taxed out of existence. Slowly but surely. Only reason prohibition on alcohol did not work was they did it too fast. Classify nicotine as a drug, regulate it. Make it illegal to grow tobacco at home. Hefty fines. Like pot is now. Used, grown and smuggled.

We have got to rally ourselves together. Get out there and tell everyone you come in contact with about PV's. Demonstrate them for them, explain how they work and that there is no second hand smoke. Tell them how long you have been analog free, free from all the chemicals that the tobacco companies put in cigarettes. Tell them exactly what is in the e-juice and that all of it is FDA approved. We have got to change public opinion if we are going to stand a chance of even living.

I'm confused as to exactly what part of that doesn't make sense to you? Sounds crystal clear to me.

Trying to ban nicotine is like trying to ban caffeine. its been around for way too long for people to let it go away. and plus that isnt gonna stop people from doing it. its just gonna create crime and more problems. On top of that pots almost legal. in some states. :vapor: woot :woot

ex smokers are a vocal group and facts do not concern them. Sooner or later, probably has happened already, a non smoker will pick up an e-cig and like it. Anti smoking will end up being anti nicotine. No way around it. By 2012, perhaps but maybe a bit slower like the anti smoking laws. They cannot move too fast or they will lose. Slow and steady - nicotine will eventually lose. More studies, some claim cigarettes are a gateway to drug abuse. E-cigs time no doubt will be relatively short. No way around it.

I would not be surprised if they change it to a nicotine tax. Nicotine for juice-cigs could then taxed same as cigarettes. Tax it into oblivion. Only hire nicotine free people in order to save on health insurance premiums. Face it, nicotine addiction means the same thing to anti smokers as cigarette addiction. Some more battles will be fought and lost but nicotine will be pretty much banned one way or the other sooner or later. Lost revenue from taxes will be easily replaced by sugar taxes on candy and soda. Or potato chip taxes. Caffeine will probably escape though as it is too mainstream. Would anyone have believed 25 or 30 years ago that it would be illegal to smoke in a bar someday? Anti smokers ranks are still growing and will prevail.

Nicotine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Nicotine can be quantified in blood, plasma, or urine to confirm a diagnosis of poisoning or to facilitate a medicolegal death investigation. Urinary or salivary cotinine concentrations are frequently measured for the purposes of pre-employment and health insurance medical screening programs."

What really makes my skin shiver is if "our style" is one day accepted and then F.D.A. approved and taxed, we will be subjected to what "they" think is appropriate for us. I don't like the thought of buying only pre-filled carts or disposables. I don't see e-liquid in the equation at all. I think most the luxuries we have now will be pushed to a black market level.

But on the bright side............positive comments like this will last forever keep me going for now.
My doctor reminded me of something on Thursday. I told her I was using e-cigs and explained how and what I am doing relating to nicotine strength. I thought she would have said great job for not smoking but no, she said; " So are you weening yourself down in nicotine?" I can't get away with anything when it comes to her. Maybe if we were able to get more people off analogs and on to ecigs and then off ecigs---off ecigs---off ecigs.....never mind just a thought:facepalm:
