One thing I forgot to mention earlier was the numerous nights I would venture outside in the freezing cold or the howling rain just to have a smoke.. That is something I do not miss, and never will !

The other thing is when the "smoking group" go outside, who is usually most of my social group and carry on the conversation.. They are very supportive of my decision to quit smoking, and are mindful of it !

I don't. I've had 2 cigs and 2 puffs since I stopped. I don't consider what I did as quitting, because I didn't quit. I just stopped. My husband smokes around me, and still no desire. To smoke a cig I mean.

I find it kind of funny that so many vapors are chasing that elusive tobacco vape, when most seem to talk about how that one cig they snitched tasted so bad. LOL I can't stand any of the tobacco flavors, and didn't enjoy my 2 and 2 puffs that I had for pure nicotine reasons. I will admit that I'm currently trying to get through a 30ml bottle of menthol tobacco that I bought for my husband. Neither of us like it, but I bought it and I'm gonna vape the darn bottle...eventually. I figure 2mls a week... jeez I'm gonna be working my way through this bottle for a long LONG time.

I do miss the smell while someone is smoking, not the smell that is left behind. I do miss how simple it was, and how I could smoke while doing other stuff (hands free). Analogs do taste bad to me now, and I won't go back as I do love vaping. Way too many benefits to vaping, but old habits do seem to die hard...

I smoked for my whole life (2 packs a day) and I have been without a cigarette now for 2 1/2 years....... I can honestly say that I DO NOT miss smoking and it is probably because I love vaping more than I loved to smoke! I feel better and the variety of flavors and hardware is just amazing!!

In the beginning I did not know if I would be able to do it because I tried the gums and the patches etc., etc........ but that was the problem - I loved to smoke and I never loved to chew gum so I needed to find something that I could love at least as much as smoking......enter e-cigs!! the rest as they say is HISTORY..... thank goodness.

I struggled at first, but I dont think I could smoke now if I wanted too. I had a very similar experience the gums and patches were grabage. I love vaping so much I have tried to convert as many smokers as possible. I am not a saleman usually but I just couldnt believe how easy it was to switch. Plus a new hobby is always awesome. I have helped over 22 soldiers switch and I am shooting for 50 by next june. thanks for the post.

Nope. Not at all. No more having to run to the store when I am low on smokes. I always disliked that. Now, I have enough supplies in my home to vape for a year without needing to buy anything. Shopping online for my vape needs is also so much nicer than having to stop for smokes every few days.

I also miss the simplicity of smoking.
Batteries...check
juice...check
tank...check
backup PV...check
I just do not miss waking up every morning and reaching for my inhaler.
Cleaning ashtrays.
Washing car windows.
Tons of weird air fresheners trying to make everything smell better than azz... I could go on and on.

Not one bit. I don't miss the nervous I would get when I would be down to 2 or 3 cigarettes and have to ration them throughout my day because I did not have any cash to buy a new pack. I've been cig-free since July 5th 2013 and extremly proud of myself.

And so you should be proud of yourself~!

Even those of us that miss *some parts* of smoking, are to various degrees 'proud' that we've quit. While I would be lying to say I do not miss any part of smoking, I_AM_GLAD_ that I no longer am a smoker.

There are PROs and CONs to everything in life, I decided that the CONs of smoking outweighed the PROs of smoking, and "vaping" gave me a real-world method to successfully quit smoking. That one PRO of Vaping (and there are many others) far outweighs all the CONs of vaping in my book!

My dearest friend cigarette, we've been close friends now for 40 years. You were there when I drank and got clean and sober. You were there when I went through my marriages and divorces. The birth of my twin girls I couldn't wait to get out of the hospital to share with you. I've loved you all of these years, and yet, you don't show me the same love and respect I feel that I deserve.

When you first came into my life, you were cool, and in turn made me feel cool. my mother always hated you, though she had her own friend cigarette, she really hated you! I defended you to her and all others that hated you as she did.

I forgave you when you fell and burned my leg, my couch, my car, my carpeting, and various counter tops and bathroom linoleum through the years. Heck you even burned my boob once, and yet I still let you stay.

Oh and lets talk about your friends, ash and smoke! Let's start with ash first, that dirty ....... always manages to get on my clothes, on my desk, even on my keyboard! Ash has been a great big pain in the ... for 4 decades now! Last but not least smoke, ugh, the dirty ....... is everywhere, on my hair, my clothes, my car, ack! even on my walls evidence of smoke is there.

WELL NO MORE!!! I've had enough of you and your dirty stinky friends! That's right cigarette it's time for you to move on and destroy someones else life, or better yet, just go away and leave the good people of this world alone, we have enough troubles without you adding anymore tragedy to their lives!

Fear not, I will not be alone, I have my new friends vape and e-juice to help take some of the pain the missing you will bring. And I look forward to reacquainting myself with taste buds and clean air, ohhhh how I miss them!! Whiter teeth will not be far behind and I'm sure exercise and Longer Life will be joining my party too.

It's been a long journey that has led me to this point, it hasn't been an easy decision, but a simple one, I chose LIFE!

Sooo, in a few words, NO!

I cannot even stand the smell of them anymore. I believe, for me anyway, it was so easy because I view Vaping as a hobby more than an addiction (though it is) and enjoy reading, researching, planning, tinkering, buying, showing off, etc. People constantly ask me about my device and it has been the spark of many great conversations. I have talked numerous people I know into switching and it has honestly become a great conversation piece.

It took me about 10 days (and the purchase of a BCC) for me to realize I was done with smoking. It has been the best decision I have ever made for myself. I save tons of money and am actually having fun Vaping (something I could never say about smoking).

I tried the patches and Chantix, neither of which put my urges to bed. Once I got in a routine with my e-cig, as you said, it was all history.

I'm not gonna lie. Of course, I miss it. But not the extent of going to the nearest gas station and grab one pack. I miss smoking without all the hassles of having to recharge batteries, add liquid, etc. Cigarettes just work right out of the box. But I'm not going back, mainly for health reasons, just like everyone else's.
