Rudy got stung by "something" on his left eyelid over a week ago. The vet removed an insect stinger from his eyelid. It's still swollen a little bit, it was swollen shut at first. He's been on meds to deal with that for a week. It makes him not well but needs to be done.

LOL... Great story

Most of my dogs I have given non-people names (IE: Billet, Rebel, etc).

One of my current dogs we picked up from a shelter. Previous owners just gave up on her, and took her to the shelter. She was already named Hannah. She was 2 years old at the time, so obviously she had already accepted that name. So we kept it.

My other current dog is Lexi. In 2010 Hurricane Alex hit Mexico. Where we live, we were on the outer edge of the rain bands, so we had a lot of rain and flooding that day. I drive a lifted Jeep which isn't affected much by high water, so we went out driving to see the damage. That's when we found Lexi- 8 weeks old, stuck in an empty field that was surrounded by water. We considered naming her Alex (after the Hurricane), but that is the name of my best friend's daughter, so that didn't seem like a good idea LOL. We settled on Alexis, but within a week or two we started calling her Lexi (for short), and that stuck.

Now THAT is a great story! And Lexi is a very lucky dog (Hannah too!)

I don't remember who said it, but it stuck with me, although I'm probably not quoting it exactly right... "If dogs don't go to heaven, I want to go wherever they go."

**sigh** The joys of dog ownership. Guess who got skunked this morning and made it back into the house before I even realized what was going on?

Hate it when that happens.

Now I don't feel so bad that Midnight barfed on my blanket today.
I should make a craigslist ad to get rid of her.
Ad for the wife that gives her treats, not my dog!

We've trained our dog to run into the bathroom when she needs to barf.
It is so much easier to clean up off the linoleum.

My dog throws up in his crate. Not sure why I still have his crate set up. I originally used it to crate train him 4 yrs ago for a month when I first got him. He does take naps in there once in a while but prefers my bed with his head on my pillow.

Lexi's crate has become part of the furniture. We got it when she was a pup. And well, Lexi has accepted that as her "room". She takes her toys in there. She lays in there. It's her little sanctuary. We did not intend to keep it. But now it's Lexi's little domain, so we just keep it.

An attempt was made to crate train Gracie (1 year old mini dachshund) shortly after adoption. I came home (15 min away) to the blanket that was in the crate torn into little tiny pieces and a very upset dog. I may try again some other time... My beagle is ok to leave for 5-6 hours by himself, he just sleeps. Gracie would tear the house apart if left to her own devices.

Speaking of puking... lol. I made a mistake this morning. I gave Rudy cold water right out of the fridge when we came in from the morning walk. He wasn't long puking it up. He must have been over heated and the cold water was too much. He's a great dog... he let me know he needed to get outside to do it.
