I'm new to the e-cig world, but I made a HUGE mistake. I bought BLU cigs. 200 bucks later, and I bought the JOYE 510. Huge difference. I've read enough that everyone is paranoid about promoters posting and pushing their brand. Fine. Don't buy the 510. I have no idea if it's the best. All I can say is, the BLU line sucks. Really bad. Really really bad. The one I just got is 10x better, and the same price (at least if you look around). Seriously, why is BLU in business??? I didn't know e-cigs were this good. Done with tobacco cigs.

Seriously, for the newbs, don't by BLU. The drag sucks, the TH sucks, the batt sucks, and you can't buy liquid which I didn't understand until today. Buying e-iiquid is awesome. Sorry, I'm just really happy vaping something other than baseline nonsense. DON'T BUY IT. I imagine there are other brands that suck, please make a thread for brands so newbies like me won't buy them and waste 200 bucks trying to "upgrade" like the BLU rep told me to do.

if it makes you feel any better I started on a blu also. On the plus side it got you started on vaping and it got you to the ECF, so it wasn't a total disaster. As far as salvaging your Blu goes, when you get to the point where you want to experiment with different attys and such, buy a 306 atty and a drip tip for it. In a pinch you can always put that on a Blu batt and have something that works. The batt won't last long till needing a recharge but its a functional backup system.

Thanks phorbin, just should've found this forum first. My mistake. I want nothing to do with that company. I bought the recharger pack, but it had nothing that ran to an outlet. I asked them how I am supposed to charge the battery "pack", and they said I had to order that extra. Regardless, it was never close to a real cig. Had no idea that vaping could be this good. Am working on convincing all my friends.

At least you started with Blu. I started with Green Smoke and that was an even bigger, more expensive mistake! The best thing I could say about Green Smoke is at least I didn't have any trouble getting my money back! Some people here really like Blu and that's great because at least it's working for them and it got them off the analogs. Our experiences with our first "e-cigs" got us all here, so it wasn't a total loss.

Welcome to ECF! I'm glad that you're enjoying your 510 and that you've found vaping success with it.

$200?? How?

Wasn't the first time I bought. I bought a starter pack, then wanted better. Emailed them, they told me I could get a better taste if I ordered two more batts, two more atomizers, and another pack for recharging. And, they were promoting a new flavor. I didn't know what I was doing. I fell hook, line and sinker. Spent 75 for the starter, and 100 for everything else after. Not quite 200, but close. Yes, I'm an idiot. :)

I researched a lot before I bought an ecig and found that BLU is pretty much universally despised for poor performance and horrible customer service. I'm glad I didn't fall into their trap. Got an eGo first and love it. Bought a Joye 510 after that just for the sake of style (in green), light usage and easy carry but that's as short of a battery life that I'm willing to deal with. I'll listen to the veterans before I buy anything.

Thanks WOH, appreciate the welcome. But, I'm not propping the 510. I just know that it destroyed what I tried. Maybe I did something wrong with BLU if people enjoy it, but I'm very surprised. I imagine bashing a brand on a forum is bad, so I apologize, I'm just so happy now with what I've got. I know there are far superior brands to the 510, I will look out on this forum to find them.

Do we really sound that way? The 510 is a perfectly fine pv...it's a little light on battery life if someone is a pack a day + smoker. The Blu is pretty much seen as over-priced hype.

I bought the 510 because of this board, but I've seen some bashing on the assumption that they were doing nothing but propping another manufacturer. I just really want people trying to quit, especially newbies like me trying to quit, to avoid a terrible brand. Not everyone trying to quit is going to look in the newbie forum. Unless there's a title that jumps out! :)

No, I didn't think it was too harsh...just loved the passion you put into it!!! :)

I'm still new to this, and was looking for this type of response. If I had seen my thread 2 months ago, would've never wasted my money. Just want to make sure others don't want to waste their money. That's all. Hope it helps someone to save their money. I've been reading how people get their "starter e-cig", and move on to a better one. Just trying to help avoid a bad one. :)

There's nothing wrong with the 510, besides battery life. And that's usually the reason people upgrade past that, and why you'll see people saying to "just skip the step and get a eGO/Riva", but I STILL love my 510 on occasion.

Damn it....Was just complaining about the batt life LOL. Still, great thing overall. As long as I have an outlet nearby, I've got a great ecig :) Ironic, I couldn't decide between the two. Wasn't even sure that one was better than the other. Thought about buying the eGo. This technology is too new, and people hoping for an answer can't spend weeks trying to figure it out....Unless they waste money. Like me.

I've only seen one Blu up close, but it looked like a 306A in a PCC & the threads were the same as 510 & 306 attys. You might try dipping with it . . . You might be surprised.

I use 510 cartos on an eGo battery & also keep a 306 atty on an eGo battery going all the time. I not saying they're the same, but you've already spent the money, might as well give it a try.
I actually prefer the vapor production & taste of the 306 over the 510 attys & cartos, but dipping can be a hassle on the run.

Good luck & welcome to ECF

BTW, my 1rst was a Health-E cig kit = $80, 2nd a Sure Smoke from the mall = $120, 3rd a 510 kit @ $60, all my first week, so don't feel alone ;)
