i tried to start a revolution a while back on ECF and have members spread the word to term our "ecig/electronic cigarettes" as PV's= personal vaporizers instead..or something of the like... to rid the stigma and association to cigarettes. hopefully one day it'll catch on...then the govt would be less likely to associate tobacco laws in conjunction with PV's.

everytime someone asks me about my device i say its a vaporizer.

what do you guys think? shall the revolution begin? help me out!

Try not to take all this too seriously :)

You might just be working your way back to smoking.

I try to stick to this whenever and wherever I can. We are most definitely NOT smoking - so why associate our Personal Electronic Nicotine Inhaler System :)sneaky:) with the 'evil weed'?

Seriously, though, I always refer to it as my vaporizer when asked. When pushed for details, I say it's a nicotine inhaler. The word 'cigarette' acts as a trigger for the 'antis' in the same way as a cloud of what looks like 'smoke' sets them coughing.

Well, I guess I'll be the first one to disagree. While I don't agree that the term PV should be used, nobody knows it. It's easier to just say "electric cigarette" cause the whole world pretty much knows about those. I would rather say "e-cig" than sit there and say PV, then I'd have to explain what that stands for, they'd still be clueless, so I'd have to explain what it does. If you say e-cig, they say "ahhh ok" and you don't have to explain anything. Same end result, why take the long route when it comes out to the same thing? *shrug*

Don't think it's going to sway Uncle Sam based on what you call it ..

I don't like the term "vaper" myself .. personal vaporizer seems to awkward a term .. I absolutely hate the term "juice" ..

Do I have suggestions .. ?? Not really .. nic-stick is probably out .. powered nipple .. ?? I don't think so ..

How about "peace pipe" .. ?? Robo-Cig .. ??

Why don't we just call it "BOB" .. ??

LOL nice! One problem though, that's too close to Battery Operated Boyfriend (heard from a movie) and sadly, some of these things look like that, and I don't wanna be associated with carrying one of those around in my pocket every day.

See, that's the problem .. all the good names have all been taken .. :(

Yea if someone asks, I usually say its a vaporizer. I've noticed when I say e-cig, half the time I get the "well you should just stop smoking completely" nonsense about how bad smoking is for you, lol. Then its a heck of a lot harder to explain to them. When I say vaporizer, they tend to be more understanding of it.

I think that by calling it a vaporizer people are more curious and ask more questions rather than blowing it off as a ciggy. I welcome the questions and think that the open diolog is important amongst the ignorant masses

Juice doesn't bother me too much, but I'd rather call it "extract" it sounds exotic and alchemist and vintage.

Electronic Cigarette explains it best; an electronic replacement for cigarettes. PV sounds like a drug device. I use mine to replace the act of smoking as much or moreso than to administer nicotine.

People are savvy enough to understand that an "e-" version of something is not the same as the conventional version.
