First off I'm new here. Hi, hi, how ya doing?
I really just wanted to post my experience and give my two cents to the newbie vapors that are finding all this frustrating. Maybe you're having issues with your mod. Maybe you can't find that perfect e juice that makes you want to put down the ciggies for good. Maybe you're overwhelmed with information and don't know where to start. Maybe you're a little jealous of the people that made the switch and never looked back as soon as they started vaping. Maybe your a little like me then.
I met a group of alternative "smokers" at college. I know they are vapers but I use the term smokers loosely here because of school regulations they were still confined to the designated smoking areas. If it wasn't for that though I never would have met them. I was curious about what they were doing. I had no idea such things existed! I had tried to get off of analogs before using various methods but to no avail. They were a friendly bunch, extremely helpful, and eager to share their knowledge of vaping with me. They let me try their e juices and explained the different set-ups, tanks, mods, and batteries. I was sold.
I jumped right in, went home and bought an expensive starter kit. I couldn't afford the fancier one most of them had, so I settled for a step or two down. The kit itself was over $125 in total. I didn't care, if I stopped the analogs then it was worth it, right? I was so stoked when it finally came in the mail a few days later. And that's when the trouble for me began.
The first issue: The free e juice with the kit was awful. Easy fix right? So I ordered some of the stuff I had previously tried from the friendly vapor bunch. Which led me to....
My second issue: It tasted great, but it burned and tightened my throat and lungs. Felt like someone was squeezing the life out of me. It took me way too many e juices and vendors to realize that pg and me just didn't get along. Even after I did figure it out, I couldn't find a high VG e juice I enjoyed very much.
My third issue: Sure it was fun at first to play around with the cartomizers, punching holes in them, putting the tanks together, spilling e juice all over myself every single time and of course priming them, but after a while... yeah, UGH!!! Well, get a different style tank you say? Yeah, that expensive mod I bought is a fickle thing, and doesn't seem to want to work with any other 510-threaded tank I bought. Which brings me to ...
Another issue: Try an adapter? Yep been there done that. That darn mod really doesn't like those either. Errors, Errors, and more Errors. Very Frustrating!
So I put down my e-cig mod and walked away from it. Kept on smoking those analogs.
The friendly vapor bunch still encouraged me, but ultimately nothing they said made me want to try the experience again. I was discouraged and when a friend of mine jumped on board with vaping with literally zero issues, found his perfect mod and adv on the first go, I was completely jealous. Of course I was happy for him to but come on! Why didn't that happen for me like it seems to happen for everyone else?
About a year went by, I felt awful, was wheezing a lot, out of breath all the time, and I snored. So I decided I was going to give it another try. But this time I researched some things. Decided I was going to buy a very affordable ego-style kit and honestly I felt like I was backtracking a little going from this big expensive mod to a pen style, but thought Oh Well! I also decided to try 60-100% vg off a few different vendors and Ooooh how I hoped and prayed I would find something I liked.
Happy Ending: On Easter Sunday this year I finally quit analogs. I love my cheap kit, and I finally found my adv! I still hang out
with the friendly vapor bunch, and the funny thing is they've all tried my adv and absolutely hate it.
Long story short: If your frustrated and new to this, Don't rush it. Take a deep breath and stop pressuring yourself. Find
what is right for you, what works for you. You'll figure it out, it just takes a little more time for some of us than it
does others.
