Hi Kakg2x,

I'm a newbie too. I don't agree with the whole taste bud theory to your dilemma. I don't doubt that some long term smokers have fried their taste buds, but my experience so far is that the problem is the product, not my taste buds:

I was dumb enough to start with greensmokes! the cartos weren't bad, but not good either. they didn't taste like plastic though.

the batteries quit after three days, so I got some back ups from lecig, with some of their cartos. I thought their coffee and RY4 were frankly delicious! I was now about 10 days in to this endeavor.

I returned my greensmoke kit and got a v4l kit. I think their batteries rock, but the cartos tasted like......plastic!!! imagine my surprise when I read your experience.

Here's what I think happened. I think my cartos from v4l were dry. they crackled when I used them. initially, I thought this was the juice crackling, but after researching this on ECF, I realized my cartos were burning and I was tasting the results of the burning cartos.

This is almost laughable, but today, I left my house with three E9 batteries, two v4l batts, and a mixture of cartos. I had three carrying cases to hold all this paraphernalia in. and NOTHING WORKED!!!!! lecigs cartos dont work with v4l's batteries. I could draw and draw until my eyes bulged and my ears bled, and I would get NOTHING! and I can't stand the taste of v4l's plastic cartos and the e9 batts don't work because I don't have anything right now to charge them with....long story short, I said F--- it and bought some cigarettes! I'm amazed that the ecig pioneers stuck with it. If it weren't for hearing of other's experience on this forum, and that this thing CAN work, I would have given up on ecigs by now.

anyway, the point of my little rant is, if you have to still smoke "analogues" for now, don't beat yourself up! eventually, you'll find your way through to a system that works for you....I have to believe that, because I'm in the same boat!

Okay... I absolutely LOVE all you guys! Thank you soooooo sooooooo soooooo much for all your advice. I really am starting to like vaping and didn't have any analogs at work today (except for 5 small drags)! I think with my new purchases today and my cousin's "gift pack" I will be pretty much good to go! I've learned so much here in the last couple of days! Oh, before I forget... I didn't kill my atty! Although the "tank" looked full, I found it was only half full and thus, the burnt taste. Sooooo, I recharged that battery, blew out the atty, refilled the tank (topping it off) AND primed the atty with 2 drops of juice! (Ok, I think I'm getting pretty good at this now he he he!). Can't wait for my new shipment of gizmos within the next couple of days! MIX and MATCH here I come! With all this new-found information and the happiness I'm feeling about vaping :) I'm thinking by MAYBE early next week even I (bold and cap lol) can give some newbies (newer than me) advice on what to actually start out with! Definitely not being a boaster here, so please don't think so! I have gotten so much good advice from ALL of you and have researched EVERYTHING you have all talked about! (Bored at work lol) that I really feels as though I'm going to be doing pretty good now! AGAIN....l thank you ALL so much for your support, advice, information and encouragement - without this forum I would probably have given up!!!!! Will definitely keep you posted HERE within the next few days, as to how I make out! (((HUGS))) to ALL! (ESPECIALLY cousin Jewel!)

Ok I'm on the liberty site.... which kit do I want? LOL

kakg2x, You want one of these. KGO 1100 mAh 2 battery kit

While you are there order some boge cartomizers that will fit on your eGo T batteries. That isn't a total wash, you can use those batteries with other systems down the road.

: )

damselle, you are 100% correct...if the person can taste the "plastic" it ain't their taste buds! It's the equipment. eGo T just ain't cutting it.

OMG I have to say I'm LMAO! I'm hearing "crackling" almost all the time and I'm thinking you are absolutely right! The "yucky" taste I'm tasting IS plastic! Hmmmm no wonder there's no other "flavor"! HA! I did buy tanks from a different company and they do seem a tad better, however, thats why I'm going to try the cartomizers.... I'm hearing LOTS of good stuff about them!!!! Good luck to both of us!!!!!! Hope we can kick that smoking habit! AND.... Honestly, today, I decided that if I can't quit "cold turkey" then so be it!!!!!!

PaporPlas has it right with the Kgo kit. best starter and best ego kit period. The batteries are superior to any ego style battery and have been thoroughly tested in many reviews. A Kgo kit matched with smoketek single coil carto's are really hard to beat for good, out of the box vaping that will satisfy.

I also recommend new vapers buy 18-24 MG juice for atleast the first month because while you will withdrawl from all the other chems besides nic from cigs the higher nic level of that juice will for the most part curb most of it and then you can lower it after that.

Yes, I've been going with 18-24 mg of nicotine. Since I hadn't smoked all day I was actually starting to get a headache at work (most likely "other chemical" withdrawal!) BTW I got the DUAL coil SmokeTech.... hope that's STILL gonna work out okay?????

kakg2x,
If not now, then you'll get off the ciggies soon enough. Hell it took me nearly a year but I wasn't that serious about quitting, I'm still not serious but I haven't had a cigarette in 2 1/2 weeks. I may pinch one off a mate on the weekend, I may not. It's a non issue for me because my ecig gives me everything I need.

The reason I'm telling you this is that as you get more comfortable with vaping, and you find the juice strength you like and the flavours you like, and really learn how to use your equipment and make it work around you, you'll naturally start to reach for the ciggies less and less until you will have had been in a position where you have run out of cigarettes but don't see any point in buying them.

The attitude of "if I can't quit cold turkey then so be it" worked very well for a friend of mine who really wanted to stop smoking and start vaping, mine was an even more relaxed approach of "I'll just stop when I stop".

Either way, relaxing and enjoying the times when you avoid having a cig can be more important than beating yourself up about the one you don't avoid.

So yeah, relax and enjoy! You've got some cool new toys to play with now. That'll keep you busy for a while.

I'm so proud of you! I just sent you a couple of emails. One of the previous posters said to make sure your carto stays nice and wet, that is key! You are doing great!!! :D

A lot of us spend a bit of money in the beginning. Once you settle in, it won't be so expensive.

I sure hope so, already 250 bucks in between me and the wife and i'm already considering bigger batteries and some of these boge cartos wveryone seems to be raving about

I don't even want to tell you what I've spent. But most of it has been by choice, not necessity. I'm not spending much now, just cartos and making my own juice. To me, it's priceless that Hubby and I haven't smoked for over 9 months.

I started out with the Joye e-go. I love it!!! I've been vaping for almost a year now. I was a pack and a half a day smoker for about 15 years (yes I started smoking very young). For me the only way to stick to my vaping and away from the cowboy ciggs us to use the strong flavors. My favorite is Atomic Fireball, I add it to everything. I am searching for a new supplier for it though, as I am NOT happy paying $24.99 for 15 ML at my local mall. Tried one place but the flavor isn't strong enough for my taste. :))
