heres an article where a doctor claims that not only is the "lethal dose" for nicotine severely flawed, but also that it is a complete myth altogether! i knew it would be hard to believe so i racked my brain trying to find where i first read it. and im pleased to say i found it:

I doubt you could even get down a few milliliters of it.
But certainly there is no way anyone can ingest a 30ml bottle of it.

It's pretty hard to drink bleach too, apparently. Doesn't make it any less poisonous.
The quote used from Post #1 .. pharmaceutical nicotine exposures .. gives a false sense of security in that pharmaceutical nicotine exposure is most likely in a lab environment by it's very definition ..

Not sure if the article I read was cited, but 2 cases of "nic poisoning" I read about, the subject tried twice to commit suicide by drinking a 30ml, then 60ml of juice (2 separate incidents). ER gave charcoal, neither was near fatal.
It is the dose. Did you know all spiders are poisonous?
And I'll end with, "Those who think they know it all, really tick off those of us who do..."

When he was released from the psychiatric ward at the hospital, we brought him to our house to keep an eye on him.
He was staying in our guest room, and apparently he was not entirely better yet.
It was summer, it was fairly warm that night, and he apparently decided he was too hot and needed to drink water.
He apparently drank many, many glasses full of water as we slept in the other room
He came into our room and woke us up and said he was having a heart attack.
We took him to the emergency room where it was determined that he was suffering from mild water intoxication.

No, but I'm saying more people will probably die from being "poisoned" by many other things that are not equally demonized.
Wait, what? The quote by Vocalek? That isn't about pharmaceutical nicotine exposures.
That would be wise.
There are a lot of blood vessels down there, and I'm sure we can all agree even after reading the updated study that 1ml of pure nicotine will undoubtedly kill you - that's twice what the new study suggests is lethal.
I'd also like to point out that CSI Miami is hardly a reputable source of scientific material.
