I'll check Jessica Lange and raise you Helen Mirren .. who is, in fact, 68 ..

Nicotine is a drug. Nicotine is also a poison. The two are not mutually exclusive.
The problem is the sensationalism of the OP. Hyperbole rarely helps rational argument.
LD50 means lethal dose for 50% of the sample base. Obviosuly they didn't test this on actual humans but extrapolated the data from animal testing while minding real life examples. Even if there are some people that are extremely resistant to nicotine, there are many more examples of people who are not. Scientific results are called to question every day yet drawing conclusions from questions themselves is just bad journalism. But that's the other point of this thread, the nicotine toxicity data for people that everyone has gone by until now was not based on good science. wiki is an easy reference for the reported oral LD50's, and it's even been updated...the concentrations for skin may be different due to the slower absorption rates
Its informative enough for people to use caution and possibly educate themselves on the subject matter, everybody is aware that they are slowly poisoning themselves one way or another and most do it in moderation but its a whole other thing to create the delusion that its harmless all together... I wouldn't give an e-cig to a child or indeed anyone who isn't a smoker already, would you?and deleting the word poison might not be a bad idea- it's not informative. There are better descriptives that carry more information.
That is true, bad wording on my part. What i ment was slowly damaging in general. And yes i do believe that nic by itself is still slightly damaging to the human body, even though much less dirty than analogues it still increases oxidative stress on the cells and stiffens arteries.Slowly poisoning hints at nic never leaving and building up over time. That is untrue.

This. The OP is actively fighting the sensationalism of using the term "poison" to criticize e cigarettes.
Wow, talk about enough material for a whole new thread...I wouldn't give an e-cig to a child or indeed anyone who isn't a smoker already, would you?
I don't know if I would agree that is fact.
I think you would puke it up.
I know when I swallowed some chewing tobacco I puked.
I puked a lot.
But it's really hard to say, isn't it?
I mean, we haven't had any chance to find out.
And maybe that is the point I'm trying to make here.

Pure liquid Nicotine would kill you if you drank it as you would a soft drink, honestly just inhaling the substance could make you pass out.

Are you saying that simply inhaling the fumes from 100mg/ml strength liquid can do damage to your lungs?Simply inhaling it can leave devastating trauma to the lungs.

I sure haven't ever heard that before.
Is this a well-known fact that every DIYer is aware of?
