Downsizing

I don't understand downsizing in the current climate, given that the FDA might quite possibly nullify buying any new mods or tanks. But, you guys may have a lot more than I do. haha

The only thing that worries me is access to nic. Then again, they won't be able to stop us from ordering from other places. You might be surprised what you can buy from other countries without issue.
I have a few mods that can't die and about twelve 510 connectors to make more if the need arises. (I'm willing to bet there are people buying them by the thousands for easy income if things go south, Imagine all the flashlights with momentary switches and screw in 510 connection bulbs that will be for sale on ebay ). All my tanks and atty's are rebuildables and we'll always be able to get cotton/rayon and wire.
I ain't skeered.

I think by 'downsizing' it's more about narrowing down how many setups (mod & atomiser) you have juiced up and ready for daily use.

Most of us also have a very very large stash of 'spare' 'backup' mods and atomisers on top of the daily setups

My daily setup remains the same, one mod and one topper, plus one subohm tasty setup to sample at home. My rotation is tiny but my stockpile is huge.

I need to down size already and I have only been vaping 2 months or so. I had my first vape (pod setup) stop working. I freaked out because no pod and no cigs. I ran out and bought a backup. Slowly over the weeks I kept upgrading and buying backups. Then of coarse coils and backup coils, batteries and backup batteries, charger......

IDK that sounds implausible but if there has been one thing life has taught me is that almost anything is possible.

Give your dog my best regards and explain to him that the PTSD never goes away the best he can shoot for is avoidance.

Sadie 'hates' squirrels probably because she deems them a threat to her pack just like skunks and racoons. As smart as dogs sometimes seem, they still only have the intelligence of about a 2 year old child. I'm pretty sure if she could catch a squirrel she would, just like she did last year with a skunk. Next thing I knew she had it in her mouth, which was QUITE the surprise for me . Luckily she survived that with only a couple of cuts on her eyebrows from the skunk's claws, a REALLY bad taste in her mouth and having to take an après skunk-fight bath

For a long time my toddler was eating dry catfood out of the bowl, and his statements of how delicious it was were taken by me as the action of a toddler waving a red flag at his mommy so I chose to ignore it.

But then I was like: rabies and I had to make him stop. It got pretty intense. LOL

It was always so great/awful to see them they were adorable but the whole time all I could think was "tomato sauce." You could get awful close to them really, but I kind of didn't want to find out what was the CLOSEST you could get. Etc.

For some time now I've had 4 or 5 setups going at any one time and recently added 4 regular pod systems. I know this is a puny amount compared to some folks here. What I have noticed lately is that I spend a lot of time switching from vape to vape to vape and I think I am also vaping more because of this.

So I decided to simplify things and put a few things a way. I now have two setups and two pods. Been doing it this way for about a week and I think I like it better. I also feel like I am vaping a bit less.

In the Land of Shinyitis does anyone else find they want to downsize rather than continue to upsize?

Me! for the second time in two years I've sold most of my gear and try to get by with 5 setups. But I love my tanks too much and I find having less than 10 unappealing. It's not 2012 any more... What you can do, not have as many mods, and rotate tanks every month or so...

You are keeping yourself smoke-free - backups, coils, batteries etc are all necessary for that. Plus how else can you find your perfect vaping setup?

I'm not that worried about the government banning vaping, although the tobacco tax income is in the billions for tobacco and nothing for ecigs. It's usually about the money when they make decisions.

Nic in the freezer and all the mods and supplies you can accumulate is the safest way to ensure vaping past a possible ban. Those who are members of the "I got mine" club will be fine if vaping gets clobbered by Uncle Sam.

IMO, there is no set amount of vaping gear or supplies that everyone should have, or should be buying. We each have our own comfort level as far as that goes, and it likely varies quite a bit from person to person.

As far as Americans stockpiling for vapocalypse, it is possible to do that and still have "money for nice things". A "stash" doesn't have to cost a fortune, put a financial burden on someone, or keep him/her from buying nice things they may want or need. I have a very comfortable stash of vape gear, supplies for DIY, etc. (started in only the last 3.5 years) for myself and to help others who may need it in the future. Yet I've never not been able to buy nice things because of it...even though I'm not what I'd consider, rich. I'm sure there are many others who likely feel the same, too.

If you're happy and comfortable with what you have...that's all that really matters.

The most expensive vaping gear I've bought was a Provari V2 ($224 back in 2010). It's a voltage controlled relic these days, but vapes just fine. Now, I just watch sales and buy when the price is right. I've picked up a number of mods on sale half price. I seldom spend more than $30 on a mod and only buy one or two a year.

My long time favorites for an ADV are the Pico line, Jac Vapour and Hcigar DNA mods, and the SMOK Alien (dual cell mod). I'm surprised the Alien still works based on user comments.

Downsize? Perish the thought! I'm not 100% certain how many mods I own. Twenty-couple, I suppose.

I really only use three regularly. But I also bounce around between three locations up and down the east coast and I normally only take two mods with me when I'm travelling, and I obviously need backups at each location.

Then there's about five or six that are retired, but they're historical artifacts like this that I'd never sell.

Plus there's another half a dozen or so that are virgins, i.e. backups that I've never used..

Nope, I don't see any need to downsize.

I’m looking more of my mods as a collectors hobby rather than just stuff to buy. I’ve been enjoying learning about the stabwoods and resins/acrylics etc.... and now the difference Provaris- the P3s and Procyons etc...
Oh course the Yihi and DNAs and even my favorite Vaporessos- the Revengers X etc.

So Im still deciding on the Dani Dicode stabwood if I can figure the manual out lol!

If I i “downsize” it’ll only be to to add more to my collection. I plan o keeping about 25-35 mods as backups for backups. There’s no way with what’s happening in this country right now that I will be selling will I be selling any mods unless it’s to buy nicer and more mods.
