Just.... whatever you do.... Don't watch the movie "Downsizing." LOL I don't think I can "spoil" this but it's like some world where you can shrink yourself and live in some paradise only the NORMALLY "heroine" of the movie (the blond wife) abandons the hero who finds himself emotionally tied to like some Vietnamese or something woman with one leg (he gets her a leg but still) one leg.....

AND she is ALL IN YO FACE about helping her bodega or whatever I guess everyone who shrinks doesn't have it great.

And then the "Norwegian" or similar scientist who came up with the whole concept comes and gets them for some reason and explains the earth is gonna DIE in like oh 10 years and they've made these tunnel things to live in but one leg is like "CENSORED THIS!" and the dude is like, "I don't want to die!" Only he changes his mind so while the future people go hide, they go help the poor.

It was the WORST piece of propaganda I have ever seen.

Watching it was very similar to how I would feel if someone made me go through my herd and thin, even the broken ones.

So if you are still all about downsizing maybe you SHOULD watch that movie because if anything as I watched I was like, "I wish I was ten inches TALLER."

The kid dragged me to it. I tried to keep my scathing comments to a minimum but it was HARD. LOL

I agree completely with Rossum below - don't worry about shinyitis, but do get yourself a back up mod.

If that one mod is the only thing keeping you smoke-free - Then buy yourself a very cheap backup mod. :thumb:

Clearance Eleaf iStick Pico 25 Mod - Blue white - $18.90

I'm also on tight budget - and I made a deal to only spend on vaping, what I used to spend each week on cigarettes. Despite purchasing plenty of vape gear, I'm saving money big time.

Once I got ill I stopped going on crazy vacations and buying 3 lettered cars with heated steering wheels and all the other fun stuff I did when I had a six digit paycheck.

Instead, I spend that money on vape gear only. That and put a bit of it awAy each month from my SSDI check. So boring now.

I had A LOT of fun doing crazy things like climbing active volcanos and swimming in bull shark infested fresh water lakes. Which I honestly didn’t know at the the time otherwise someone would’ve been murdered and it would NOT HAVE BEEN ME BY A SHARK :danger: !!!!!!!!

So I continue to purchase vape gear until that “day” I plan on getting my revenge :tumble:!!!!!!!

What exactly kinda of propaganda was it supposed to be for any ways??

Sounds like a very big fail- propaganda wise like. I think we could’ve come up with something a bit more interesting then that ffs. Crap.

I have retired three times now. This morning I was asked to come out of retirement again, for a month.
I used swear words they had never heard before. It's educational I said.

I just did a rough count up, excluding the 10 or so I have given away, there are >30 devices or tanks etc boxed and stored, plus spare coils, the odd spare tank glass, cotton, wire ( I rarely build), bottles, flavourings etc. If a no-deal Brexit results in UK becoming a desolate desert island I & relatives should be OK.

Oh and the makings for liquid, but probably not enough... hmmm. Only one little squonk, hmmm I was going to get another.

Shopping. Urgh. I would rather wrestle alligators than go clothes shopping, even for myself. Look, click, buy it, thank you Postie for delivering, done.

That’s how I do it, I shop with my thumb.

IMO, the safest strategy is to have a little more than you think you'll need. You can always sell or swap a mod here and there, especially if they are still in the original sealed box.

10 of each should be enough, IMO. Spare glass parts for tanks are a wise item to have on hand. A hard drop can take out glass components. Mods sometimes just quit working.

If I had to bet I'd say that Vaping will win out in the end. Vuse apparently believes that. It probably hinges on how many politicians have tobacco stocks in their portfolios.

We may also be worrying over nothing, but the unknown factor makes me stock up for my own sense of vaping security. Better to have and not need than to wish you had.
I agree, but I've seen people that have 30 or more setups. I had a nasty surprise last year when I lost control over my setups and went to pick up a mod and it tasted completely stale. I couldn't keep track of what I had, let alone vape everything in rotation.
Nowadays I wick my RDA when I feel like vaping, since I'm mostly a tank person.

Man kind killing the planet hence, killing itself in the process. I refuse to call it climate change but the weather figured prominently.

I swear.... If I had a dime for every time I carefully did not answer, like, "You are so right about climate change, dude, Kill yourself. Or, take the long road for that and go homestead for a while... Until you die of malnutrition." Well, I'd be a rich person but it doesn't seem to be like, um, kind somehow.

Even my OWN father, who USED to be a scientist believes in climate change. I reminded him all the time he spent growing up going on about global cooling and he said I hoped I was speaking "Tongue in cheek" and I was like, "No absolutely NOT but that heart attack treatment SURE cost some power, I would let yourself GO next time, and say DO your part for the planet. The only thing stopping me is the fact that like, you plan to leave all your DOUGH to your wife's REALATIVES, the pair of you couldn't even get a kid going together you were such drunks. But, watching your wife die, then like YOU die, and watching the cousin of some woman I barely know but totally hate, well that's going to be unpleasant for me regardless of the TEMPERATURE. So go nuts. Also, explain to me how the Farmer's Almanac (which you used to garden) is more accurate than the weatherman and I will be ALL over your "It is unabashedly true, all science proves it." Also, we are ALL going to die, so I don't see the great tragedy here, other than I don't want to be reading from a Bible at candlelight because that is what I can do."

Hmm. We haven't chatted in a while. First, your parents are dumb. Then, they are pretty smart. Then, they get dumb again.

Anyone who read Bill Bryson's "A Short History of nearly Everything" should be giving thanks for every BREATH they draw in. That is such a great book,. LOL

Variety is the spice of life! The only gear I've given away are backups. I find that from time to time I like getting out my old gear and giving it a run with a new twist (pun intended). Now that you've mentioned numbers I actually started counting. I have 50+ mods and who knows how many attys. I recently cleaned and boxed most of them up to keep off the dust and have them with their accessories. Geez, I didn't know I had 50 mods.

For 10 years I literally prayed, "Let me find a hobby". Then I started vaping to quit smoking. That's when I found my hobby. Who knew? I felt fortunate to find 2 things I was praying for all in one package! I have no intention of giving it up. Plus, I DIY, so that adds to the fun.

I have about 25-30 RDAs wicked and ready to go at anyone time. I don’t wet the wick though until I want to use that particular RDA. So until i want a particular RDA I keep it dry and off to the the side.

I have so many at that this point that I may end up boxing a few of them up until wanted-needed.

I rotate a few mods and tanks day to day. I've discovered a mod here and there in my vape cabinet that was filled who knows how long ago and the juice still tastes good. Wicks dry out unless you store them in a zip lock bag. I tend to wash out any tank I'm storing and keep out a few for daily rotation. At any given time I have 3 or 4 ready to go.

@Fidola13, I hope that you keep them in an airtight container when they've been wicked. You don't want the wicking to pick up various tastes and smells, because I don't think that you want to taste the Rainbow.

I learn something new every day on this forum. I’m just never sure if it’s for real or not.

I've never worried about wicking "drying out" in an mod that sits unused. I mean all wicking is dry when it's first installed in a coil, right?

I'm back and forth between several locations on the east coast, and I have some mods that live permanently in each place, meaning they will sit unused when I'm not there, which can be as long as several months at times. Yes, the hit from an RDA that's not been used for several weeks (or longer) is poor at first, even if I make sure it's been squonked up good, but it will come right back to normal with a bit of use.

My theory on this is not that it's dried out, but that the residual juice in the wick has picked up enough water from the air (recall that juice is Hygroscopic) to affect its properties (likely a much reduced boiling point) enough to dampen the hit until that watered-down juice is gone and has been replaced with "fresh".
