Well Dr. Phil gets tons of $'s from what he does or does not endorse. His son is the owner of the company with the chat and phone therapists and he pushes his wife's beauty line. It seems likely that whoever pays the most for him to push or go against is what he goes with. The almIghty dollar!

Dr. Oz has the same deal running with sponsorship of all sorts of "nutritional supplements" that will cure everything from athlete's foot to chronic fatigue syndrome. Fortunately he's under investigation by the state licensing board as it's become an abuse of the public trust.

People using the title Dr shouldn't be pimping products of questionable and in some cases harmful products, especially when they may lead to misdiagnoses and delays in actual medical care that is effective.

It's just a personal hatred of mine for for selling out for the dollars at the expense of people's health. Traveling miracle cure shows were supposed to be a thing of the past, when barkers traveled from town to town selling crap and skeddadling away before the townsfolk realized they'd been hustled.

Are you sure they're products he has actually endorsed? I know he always has a warning message on his TV show, about being wary of advertisements for products that are supposedly endorsed by him (they even use his name & photo in the ad)...that really aren't. He advises viewers to go to his website to see what few he actually does endorse.

Yeah, it's even in some of his recommendations and opinions straight out of his mouth. I don't think he started out with bad intentions, few do, but the drive for ratings seems to compromise folks far too often.

Dr. Phil hit stardom simply due to the fact that he once represented Oprah Winfrey in a court case and he helped win the case for her.... Because of her gratitude, she helped him start his own TV show and raise him to being a star....

While Dr. Phil is fairly good at dealing with dysfunctional people and situations he is by no means the oracle that many folks seem to think he is....

Personally, I like ole Dr. Phil …. However, like all TV shows, money and ratings factor into many faucets... Not only that but he is only a Psychologist and is quite limited in his total knowledge of the human condition...

He would carry more clout if he was a Psychiatrist rather than a mere Psychologist..... In simplified terms, a Psychologist is a doctor of the mind.... A Psychiatrist on the other hand is also a Doctor of the mind, but they are also a Doctor of the body (like a regular MD) …. In other words, a Psychiatrist has MANY more years of education than a Psychologist has. A Psychiatrist is a regular medical Doctor and a Psychologist all rolled into one.

The woman was an employee of Pfizer. Makers of Chantix. What a coincidence! :w00t:
Pfizer is also a "Dr" Phil sponsor. She's a shill for the show's sponsor.
VapinGreek talked about it on Smoke Free Radio tonight.

and she called it an aerosol

Vapor is common usage but technically it is an aerosol. I have no doubt that she knows it. And she used both vapor and aerosol interchangeably because of it.

When the words ethylene glycol came out of her mouth, I turned it off.

You heard incorrectly. She said "propylene glycol" and that is correct.

I don't watch Dr Phil but I found the clip on Youtube...
