I hear that argument all the time. "vaping makes kids smoke! Ban it!"
Ummmm, how about banning the god#@!& cigarettes!
Banning cigs would just make kids want them more, and where there's a demand, there will be a supply.

Note to self: "DO NOT POST after long & rough days."

Got it. Again, apologies.

Still truths, but unnecessary and zero value.

If it'll be less upsetting, we could go after Dr. Drew from Celebrity Rehab. But he also did that Celebrity Sex Addiction Rehab season and I'd hate to see that one taken out of rerun rotation.

Remember the show he did was Adam Carolla? He looked SO pained to be there.

Dr. Phil hit stardom simply due to the fact that he once represented Oprah Winfrey in a court case and he helped win the case for her.... Because of her gratitude, she helped him start his own TV show and raise him to being a star....

While Dr. Phil is fairly good at dealing with dysfunctional people and situations he is by no means the oracle that many folks seem to think he is....

Personally, I like ole Dr. Phil …. However, like all TV shows, money and ratings factor into many faucets... Not only that but he is only a Psychologist and is quite limited in his total knowledge of the human condition...

He would carry more clout if he was a Psychiatrist rather than a mere Psychologist..... In simplified terms, a Psychologist is a doctor of the mind.... A Psychiatrist on the other hand is also a Doctor of the mind, but they are also a Doctor of the body (like a regular MD) …. In other words, a Psychiatrist has MANY more years of education than a Psychologist has. A Psychiatrist is a regular medical Doctor and a Psychologist all rolled into one.

Psychiatrist are pill pushers, Psychologist are therapist. Something like Schizophrenia, that can never be cured, can be controlled to some extent with pills. The ultimate big pharma front men. Unfortunately, all too often it is everything it is quacked up to be.

Yes, a lot of things have been debated here- many are subjective, and can't be proven. But so often, people state, as a matter of simple, established fact (the earth isn't flat!), that nicotine is highly addictive incessantly- yet after over 60 years of study, it's odd that there isn't a ton of evidence to substantiate that. Okay, not a ton, but how about a single study? You would think there would be at least one single study that relates to nicotine without tobacco, right? I accepted it for years, but am kind of shocked that there isn't a scintilla of evidence that I can find to support it. But if you state this, people think you're a tinfoil hat wearing, black helicopter kind of guy. OK, rant over, but - why do we all question so many things that are far more studied, documented, and "proven", but not this?

Heard second hand from a UK friend, so no reference, no proof. But there was a study using the patch on non smokers. None developed an addiction to the patch. While he is not the type to make stuff up, I can not verify. I think I will start mixing some of my juice nicotine free and see how it goes.

Show came on in the background while I was cooking today.

This lady talking about vaping being a gateway to cigarettes and the metal risks among other things.

Ugh, people like this drive me nuts

Anyone else see this today?
IMO, waste of time as the great saying goes, " LITTLE KNOWLEDGE IS VERY DANGEROUS"

I call foul on Dr Phil. The lady represents Pfyser's stop smoking drug Chantix. That one is known for serious side effects. The cops in our town found a lady walking down highway 247 (4 lane divided median) at 2am after awakening from sleep in a vivid dream and and climbing out her bathroom window. She was totally unaware of where she was and how she got there. She was on a Chantix prescription and reported that she had awakened several times in various parts of the house not knowing how she got there and said it started after taking Chantix.

Naturally, she would talk down vaping as a stop smoking tool.
