Never having tried it, I did watch some build videos and from what I can see, it all depends on a very loosely packed cotton. Try not twisting your cotton into a very dense wick, leave it as fluffy as it comes right off the cotton ball, juice it, and then mold it into shape.

It looks like an interesting build and I'm gonna try it on my TOBH later...

Shoot. I really wanted to like this setup. Im just so ocd about the efficiency of my wicks. When I am at the point where Im getting ready to drip again, it drives me nuts if my wicks are not super dry, If there is a part that is still visibly saturated, I re wick. I go through cotton like it was going out of style lol.
