How do y'all secure the atty's while drilling?

Santa hasn't brought me a table vise for my shop because he's mad that I won't clean it out.

I just hold them in my hand agents the drill press table. with a Rag or Paper town under it.

You do not need to drill very deep just and I have not had any of them grab when drilling.

I hold them in my hand and use a cordless drill. With a 1/16" drill, your not making the hole diam very much bigger. More like reaming. Very little chance of the atty/carto snagging on the drill.

MXBNW is correct in that you don't go very deep. Just enough to "break thru". In fact, you don't want to go any deeper than needed.

I drill out all my atomizers after a day or two start with one hole when she gets clogged I drill out the other side.Once you start drilling out your atomizers there no going back to a clogged atty

I'm a believer now! I had a 2.0 IKV 306 that kept getting tight on the draw after light use. I drilled that puppy out (both holes) today with a 1/16th drill bit. OMG, what an awesome improvement. I did it to all my other attys as well...:) :2cool:

Steam cleaner people .... never have a clogged atty ... nuf said.
I should try this method I have heard positive results. How often do you clean your atomizers I find after a day or 2 at the most I am wanting more air flow. BH Have you tried enlarging the air inlets on any of your atomizers?

i just pulled a 306 out of the trash that was burnt tasting and drilled out both holes with a 1/16 bit. now the burnt taste is gone. it tastes great but i think both holes at 1/16 is to much air. so i m off to get smaller bits.

i wonder if the atty starts to taste bad because its not getting enough juice from the reservoir due to tight draw.

I look at a atomizer like its a carburetor it needs the right mix of fuel juice and air to run proper I cant stand a clogged atomizer

I been using LR 1.5 510 atty, and after 2 days the draws get tight. It is not that the juice is clogging my atty. The insulator or seal whatever the lil rubbery looking thing between the big air hole at bottom and thread seems to be expanding. I am thinking that my djarum black juice is destroying them or maybe I have run them dry a few times and made it expand. Do you think that drilling would help then? the thing basically covers the tiny holes on the thread. If I had a bit that small, i'd try it. I have about 6 tight attys so far and 2 more soon.
