Let's stop comparing vaping accessories with drug paraphernalia. The next time I have to clean up in this thread it will be locked.

Well, that is actually kinda what this thread is all about. It seems to me like somebody has gone the wrong direction for us vaporers and made this device look like something you would use illegally. We all claimed we didn't like the e-cig to be associated with cigarettes, as that made us look bad and put us in the same group as smokers. If enough people start using this device in public, I think that's going to make vaping look worse than smoking and will get it banned in places where you can smoke even faster now. This is depressing....Guess it was only just a matter of time before somebody made something like this for e-cig use....

You could say the same thing about goosenecks, e-pipes, even basic starter e-cigs.

Much ado about nothing.

I would say yes and no. Pipes were used to smoke tobacco before anything else, and starter e-cigs look like analog cigarettes. The device that this "e-cig" is intended to look like was invented for one thing only, and it had nothing to do with tobacco. That's what I don't like about it.

Unless someone personally knows the inventor and has inside knowledge of the design and development process, suggesting... excuse me, actually stating that the DoD was to "intended look like" something it's not is just silly.

Nobody is forcing anyone to buy or use a DoD device and anyone who doesn't like it should just move along and stop slagging it.

Ok, I'll give you that about whether or not the manufacturer designed it to look that way, I don't know as I haven't asked. But unintentionally designed to look that way or not, everybody knows what it does look like. I know there's a lot of people who do that stuff who will defend this with their life as they feel it is their god given right to smoke whatever they want. But all I'm saying is, that stuff is illegal, and our vaporizers are on the fence. I don't think associating them with that is good for everybody as a whole. That's all I'm saying. This is a discussion, and I'm just stating what I feel about the product. I'm not outright telling anybody what they should or shouldn't buy and that's the end of it. So let's keep this a discussion, not tell me that if I don't like it, don't pay any attention to it and shut up. This is a forum for discussion, k thanks.

Wasn't directing my "move along and stop slagging it" comment at you directly and I'm sorry it came off that way.

Don't want to take this back where OldSoldier steered us away from but believe it or not, I have seen banned items that look exactly like starter e-cigs, exactly like eGos/Rivas, exactly like tube mods, exactly like box mods, and the list goes on.

The aesthetic similarities are nothing new but I don't recall ever reading a post here at ECF from somebody arguing that any of the devices I mentioned would reflect negatively on the vaping community.

I agree, you're entitled to your opinion and I to mine. Mine is that the DoD has no more or less potential to misguide the masses than any other existing PV or vaping-related hardware.

Thanks, didn't meant to come off as rude myself, just wanting to keep this open for discussion, your comments were appreciated.

This is the first one I've seen that looked exactly like something designed for illegal use. Maybe the difference in the other ones is that they looked like our PVs but were sold/advertised as devices to use illegally, if you catch my drift. Whereas this one is going about it the exact opposite way, but still trying to reach the same group of people.

Actually I have been in contact with the manufacturer and there was no intent to make it look like anything. It is what it is, and this silly talk about it looking like a piece of drug paraphernalia is starting to get on my nerves. I'm closing this thread now because you guys are just beating a dead horse
