Dripping?

I'm a tad confused about dripping. What is it exactly? My understanding is you buy a drip-tip, and that becomes your mouthpiece that gets placed into your atty. Then you drip your juice into it, and it goes straight into your atty??? If this is correct then isn't it basically the same thing as removing your current mouthpiece and just adding a couple of drops directly into the atty, replacing the mouthpiece and then hitting?

Yup, exactly the same. As long as juice gets on the atty and vaporizes, it doesn't matter how it got there.

I drip using the 2nd method you mention... but with a Drip tip instead of the 'stock' mouth piece.

It get's its name form the act of dripping the eliquid directly on the atomizer.

I was kind of wondering the same thing. Seems like more trouble than using cartos or a tank set-up, what is the allure? Also now that I understand "dripping" what is "dipping"? I have seen a few comments on here along the lines of "I dont drip, I dip."

Most only use dripping for testing new juices or vaping occasionally used or thick juices at home. Most use cartomizers for everyday vaping.

And BTW - dripping is not recommend on auto batteries or any battery with an open hole in the end of the battery.

Before cartos became more common I started dripping because I found the filler/fluval material would dry out and I would get the compounded taste of burning atty and filler from the cartridge by dripping I didn't have to worry about a dry cartridge.

There are 2 types of batteries. Auto and manual. The manual ones you have to press a button to fire and the batteries are sealed. The auto batteries you just inhale and it works but the batteries are not sealed and juice can get into them and fry the battery.

Well, thanks for the responses everyone. I'm glad you were able to clear that up for a few of us. I guess I've been an occasional dripper without knowing it.

Like others suggested, I always just throw a couple drops of a new juice/flavor in the atty before I fill an entire carto with it. I want to make sure I like it well enough to vape the heck out of it.

I am new but finding the same experience. How often must you re-drip a few drops? Also, what is a tank system? Is it an alternative to dripping and cartos?

When dripping 2-3 drops should get you 3-4 good puffs depending on how long of a toot you take. There are a coupple of different types. the tank systems that are on the ego the cartridge holds about 1-1.5 Ml of fluid the atomizer has a spike that punches a hole and alows the juice to be fed to the atomizer same goes for the 510 tank systems. then there are carto tanks that can hold anywhere from 3+mills of juice that is held by a tank that surrounds a cartomizer. a hole or slot is punched or cut in the lower part of the cart to feed it as juice is used.

You can use the same. What I do is roll up some paper towel stick it in the atty blow through the battery end. Do that a few time until you don't get anymore juice out, then drip the new juice. When you drip the new juice take a few pulls without activating the battery to pull the juice into the atty though
