It's as bad as it sounds. Possibly worse. Went to my brilliant local shop this morning and bought myself a smok Alien (great mod by the way)

Anyway, went to the toilet at work this evening and was having a quick stealth vape as I'm not allowed ... breaks, went to put my mod in my pocket and it missed! Straight into the toilet. In a state of blind panic, my hand shot into the toilet sloshing dirty toilet water everywhere. Fished it out and began to shake in panic! Amazingly, it worked? Haven't used it yet as my cleito 120 needs a DEEP clean but should I be weary of my batteries?

Anyone else ever been in this situation?

No never happened to me (luckily)
Doing some reading and the 18650 is apparently a sealed unit. The holes on the positive side of the batt are only activated when the seal ruptures when venting.

I think you are probably ok but please make sure to check batteries with multimeter and watch closely when charging and if no voltage drop and it charges fine, it is ok I think.

But this is all my opinion after reading and so I hope one of the vets can read this thread and tell you if I'm wrong.

Bump, bump, bump

This topic was briefly discussed by our resident battery expert, Battery Mooch:

I'd be more concerned about the mod than the batteries. Electrical components (ie circuit boards and processors) don't like water. By turning on the mod immediately after getting dunked, I'm surprised you didn't fry it. Next time, should it happen, DON'T USE THE MOD for a day or two to allow any moisture that got inside the mod to evaporate. Maybe try a fan to escalate the evaporation. The old advice of putting the mod in a bowl of dry rice doesn't work according to Mooch, but I still don't think it would hurt.

Agreed, when my phone gets dropped in water or I spill liquid on anything electrical you should wait until it's dry before trying it. Usually fine.
The rice seems pointless because the batt is a sealed unit.

Don't think I would want to put any mod near my face after that. Eww lol.:eek::D
But yeah I think Baditude's advice is pretty solid.

Rice may or may not hurt. It all depends on whether the extra day or two it takes to dry in rice (versus open air) causes any problems.

Put that thing in a pillow case and head outside, swing it around like a crazy person over your head......helicopter noises are optional.
Good old fashioned spin dry to get as much moisture out as possible then put in front of fan.
Rub her down good with some alcohol....
    Urine is sterile right ???
