Dropped my mod in the toilet... help?

Oy. What a sad thing to happen to a mod. I'd junk the batteries personally, or at least tend to them lovingly while they charged, then maybe use the leafblower solution (it's on another thread, I forget) to fill your tank with juice and empty it out fast to be sure your batteries don't explode and that might be the FIRST way I'd clean the atty, also. Then, I'd clean the parts I can, maybe with some hydrogen peroxide or alcohol, and let it sit for a day. Then, I'd find a new driptip. If your mod is fine, I'd probably clean it off after reassembly with the same kind of stuff, like wipe it down with an alcohol pad (the exterior, at least), so that I could feel remotely okay about using it.

I understand your desire to not want to junk what you don't have to, regardless how horrific the situation.....

My kid dropped his phone in the toilet, we undertook similar measures (rice doesn't work, I'm a big fan of the blowdryer) and cleaned it off in a similar fashion, but thank God it was at *home*.

I wish you all the luck in the world with this, and if you can get over the ick factor and it's working? Well, good for you.

luckily my Tesla Steampunk is a bit too heavy to hold while i piddle. which is a good thing cuz if it ever fell in i think it'd break the toilet bowl.

I kind of wish I knew what happened to the mod/dude, though to be fair, had I posted this question in haste, I might have fled the thread in embarassment/horror. To be fair.

This might be one reason I'm a bit skeezy about buying used mods from say, ppl on craigslist or something.... You just never know.

My son's Asian girlfriend/fiance told me last week that if I got a piece of electronics wet I should put it in a bowl of rice. I asked her if she meant that the rice would dry out the device. She said no, that the rice would attract an Asian person who could come fix it for you. She isn't exactly PC and has that type of sense of humor. I groaned. I laughed too, but I groaned when she said it.
