Does anyone else here read E-Books?

I was an early adopter of the format 6-7 years ago, or whenever it was that I first learned about them, of course back then I loved to read all the time and I do not do so as much anymore, other than recently deciding i really need to get back into reading again. I do that from time to time, though I find it hard to find a book I am interested in and one that I can get into.

I remember my first model of E-book reader, well actually it wasn't a dedicated model now that I think about it, it was actually on a PDA, but my first dedicated one was a Franklin eBookman and I have been hooked on reading books that way ever since those early days.

Though my latest model E-Book reader I finally broke down and decided to buy was the Barnes and Noble Nook and I couldn't be any happier with it so far and hope I get lots of use out of it, since I wore out my previous readers over the years a Sony model and the first generation Amazon Kindle. Sure, I know I can read them on my computer with software from the companies, but I don't know, there's still something about holding something physical in your hands while you're reading, compared to staring at a computer screen.

Ah well, no real point to this thread I guess, but was just wondering if there's any other E-Book readers out here.

My husband does. He actually has this e-library card from a local library that allows him to e-borrow(?) books on line somehow. He says the selection is lacking though.

Yeah, I thought about doing that too a little while back, just haven't gotten around to it yet. The libraries around here seem to have a decent selection of books for doing that.

Neither here nor there
I have had a Sony eReader for about 2 years.
I used to read books on my Palm devices before that.
And my HP Jornada before that.
Haven't read anything substantiative on my BB, but thinking of giving it a try.

I have mixed feeling about the Sony.
There is something to be said for holding an actual book in your hands.
The ebooks used to be much cheaper than they are now.
I only save $3-4 buying an ebook vs. a real book.

I have a Kindle, but have not used it since I got my iPad and loaded the Kindle app. (anyone want to buy it?) It's great because I get to have the LOTR trilogy at my fingertips!

As an aside, I don't know how anyone can enjoy reading a book on an iphone(or any phone for that matter). I get a headache after about 3 minutes.........

I love my Kindle. Take it everywhere I go. Never leave home without it. I have the Kindle 1.
Amazon has books from Free to way to expensive(research books). I get free books all the time from Amazon and for anywhere from 15 cents to a little over a dollar, I email books in pdf or doc files to my kindle. I play music on my kindle and have pics of my kids on my kindle. I gmail, gtalk, yahoo messenger on it, get on the wiki and other simple format websites. the kindle isn't just for reading. not to mention that on my kindle 1, I can replace the battery and add a memory card up to 16G.
Yeppers! Love my Kindle!
