ok,so i can try the cig-alikes,from what people have said is that they dont last very long. if im going to take this serious,i should prolly just jump into something that will last a while (since i would like something to last me the whole 10hr work day and that dont have a hole lot of monkey buisness) during the day.

id like something that isnt going to be a pain in the .... i dont want to get frustrated using it haha

is a cartomizer a brand of ecig?

The cartomizer is the delivery system, the device which holds the fluid and attaches to the battery.

There are many delivery systems, which all contain an atomizer or the heating element. Atomizer, cartomizer, clearomizer and carto-tank. Most people start out these days with either a cartomizer or a clearomizer.

My $0.03...if I were to start from scratch...

eGo twist or Vision spinner battery...about $25.

Charger...$15 or so

Vision or Kanger clearomizer...about $10

Juice of your choice...depends on the size. About $6 and up.

ive saw a ego-c,but what is the eGo-C twist you mention?

i could almost peice this together? instead of buying a starter kit?

For the Echo, go to mtnvapor.com

For the eGo, a good site to check out is madvapes.com

The Echo is an automatic battery, you just draw on it like a cigarette. Most eGo's are manual batteries, which means you need to press a button to activate the battery.

Juice for either will need to be bought separately, but I think both sites sell juice. I know Mountain Vapor does, and they also sell eGo kits.

As someone who also drives every day for a living, I prefer the automatic battery. Having to press a button several times a minute to vape became an annoyance along with steering and shifting. However, I did use only manual batteries for nearly 3 months before finding the Echo, so either option will do the job.

ok thank you for the advice. i would prolly prefer the auto battery instead of pushing a button.

so i went to mtnvapor and saw the eGo-C parts. to peice this thing together i would need a atomizer, battery, cartomizer, liquid and a tank?? and when people have mentioned "mods" does that mean they kind of made a customized vaporizor? haha the only kind of "mods" i know are when i come to my car. you get the car bone stock from the factory and if you want to make it faster, you add some "mods" (i.e. exhaust, intake)

wow, this is quiet the learning experience!! haha

Yes! You could easily piece this together for less than a price of a kit. eGo twist and the Spinner are variable voltage batteries. In a nutshell, variable voltage lets you increase or decrease the oomph of the intensity of the vapor. Dial it up if you need something hotter. Dial it down if you need something mellower.

lol a cig. ive always called them that. one more bad habbit for my bad habbit haha

i see what you did there. lol great movie!

holy crap. i never knew these things were this complex.

i would like something similar sized to a cigarette. so it could almost imitate the way it feels. i really love the fact that there is a forum for e cigs. it seems like it is going to be a huge help in this process/life change. i love smoking but with how there is such a big push to quit,it really gets to me.

my girlfriend wants to try a e cig too. i was thinking around 100$ for me and her. are there any good "kits" out there for 50$?

i looked at the V2's. they look pretty decent and ive saw other people who have liked them on here. the V2 economy kit,the only thing i dont get is the flavor. i dont know which flavor to get! haha

I can tell you, you will most likely get away from the traditional feel! I started on a Blu but soon realized, the battery life SUCKED! But...I encourage you to follow whatever you believe will get you to quit. I wouldn't go with any commercial e-cig only because they are so expensive. You could use something like this Empiremods eGo Passthrough CE4 Starter Kit which would allow you to use while charging. It may be bigger than a "heater" but the battery will last you and if you get into this obsession LOL, you will learn that battery life is REALLY important. Good luck to you in your endeavors, and if you ever have any questions, everyone here is more than happy to help!

Whatever system you get, starter kits are generally cheaper than buying everything al a carte. It also removes a lot of confusion for someone who knows little about the different delivery systems.

You may want to think about getting the 1300 mAh battery. In general, every 100 mAh equates to about 1 hour of use, and if you're out of the house for 12 hours a day there is nothing worse than a dead battery. Be aware that a 650 battery will be about 4 inches long before adding a cartomizer and a 1300 will be about twice that. I get about 9 hours of use out of my 650 batteries, but I'm home before it dies and I'm more comfortable with the smaller size.

A kit will come with 2 batteries though, so you could always take both with you.

It's a good idea to buy a second charger, just in case one breaks or dies on you.

Also, if your kit comes with cartomizers, buy a clearomizer or two for your device just to try them out and vice versa.

Also remember these devices are disposable. A battery will last about a year if maintained properly. A cartomizer or clearomizer will last anywhere from a week to a month depending on use.

Expect to use at least 20 ml of juice a week. It may seem like a lot, and you may use much less, but it never hurts to have plenty on hand. Unless you're wanting menthol, try many flavors in the smallest amounts possible until you find something you like.

Nothing is ever going to taste like a cigarette. Ever. You can coke close and find some flavors you enjoy, but you will never find a flavor that tastes like burning plant matter and paper. Know that now so you won't be disappointed later.

Good luck!

ok great! so if i want to be able to increase or decrease the oomph of the vapor, thats all battery controlled? i want to be able to purchase all of these things from the same website. what is a good reliable website i could purchase all of this stuff from?

Check the link I posted. It has everything you need for one person and it's not a horrible price to get started. I would also suggest buying some other e-liquid since 3 ml's won't last long. Just pick a flavor that sounds interesting or look around for sample packs. But trust me when I say, if you enjoy it, you will quickly move to something else. I've been vaping for two months and have become hooked on the technology, and battery life is huge. I'm now on batteries that could last me more than all day so I don't have to charge throughout the day. I am more than happy to help if you have any more in depth questions, just pm me.

I got my setup 2 1000mah ego twist batteries, 2 t-3 clearimizers (liquid tanks), a charger and a few odd and ends for around $75. could get cheaper if you reduce the battery size and cut some of the corners, but after reading and lurking here for weeks this seemed to be a setup that is held in high regard. I found a couple of discount codes that are easily found on this forum and that helps. After much research I went with MyVaporStore.com could have gotten some of my items cheaper elsewhere, but this is the only one I found that had all I wanted in one stop. Shipping was quick and everything arrived as it should packaged neat and secure. Almost got frustrated trying to get all of the bubble wrap off. :)

Its only been one full day, but I haven't had any craving for a real stinker yet that I could not shrugg off and puff away on my ego.

marb lights. even ultra lights at times. but about 99% of the time its lights.

I would start with a liquid around 8-12mg/ml. And e-cigs have come a long way. The Ego batteries aren't bad and a passthrough is perfect since you can charge it while using it when it's plugged into a USB. I started on Blu, move to an Ego, and now am on a Vamo. Love the Vamo but if you have a 900mah Ego battery it will be plenty good to get you started.
